I like the sketches of the androgynous girl with the long nose. There are some very nice and fluent poses!

triumph thanks! i know what you mean! i dont like leaving blank space too. i actually start with the crap first though, like boxes and line exercises to get my mind thinking, and then the naked girls come up. so i fill up the space left by the crap with the actual sketches, not the other way around lol.

tiggeraz thank u! shes my go-to thing to draw these days , will upload more of her tomorrow, tired of taking photos

pauloricardo dude... renxerox is amazing! very inspiring, a whole new world to me. i had no idea about these kinda stuff exist. thanks for the refs!

    ----

drafts for a school assignment that has nothing to do with illustration (or practical meaning) but i do my thing anyway cause i hate everyone there.
its actually about sign design and book stylisation and treatment for printing, but only if you like shitty stuff. (i mean its not a bad subject but the class sucks. every class in my school sucks. my school sucks.)
i went for book store sections signs and comic book cover, which is probably not allowed.

ah... long story... its a product and system design engineering university that has nothing to do with any of these words. we 're not designers, we re not engineers, we re just people that can say "yep, design is a thing, and so is engineering." its just theory of both without ever touching the realm of reality. and by theory i dont mean design fundamentals of course... THAT WOULD BE ABSURD!! everybody knows that to be a designer is to know the algorithm of a bezier curve and how to solve the equations that the freakin computer uses to calculate a spline in cad. how a curve looks like is not important at all!!! so if you always wanted to be a parametric program when you grow up, or the molecular structure of polypropylene, that would be the school for you. yep we also learn materials science and 4 types of mathematics (that i dont know how they re called in english) and a bunch of other random stuff because why fucking not. the funny part is that the point of the school is design. they actually think thats how designers are made. these courses are not meant to prepare you for a specialist proffesion in some very specific technical field, cause they kinda sound like it.
    no
    no
    thats just it
    its just random knowledge
    just take it
doesnt matter what you do with it. nothing follows after that. just learn math and physics and go be a PRODUCT DESIGNER yo!!
you dont have to learn how to draw a line and whats the shape of a circle... pffffffff!!! that just comes natural after you master mechatronics DUH!
and the most hilarious part of all is that everyone here is convinced that they are designers. the situation can not even be described. no. that, i refuse to do.

if someone reads the courses list thinks its the coolest place to be. little does he know that just by reading the titles of the "cool" courses he earned 90% of the knowledge the class has to offer. the 10% left being the names of your classmates and teacher. i mean, yea, we had a "freehand drawing" (im laughing out loud everytime i think of it) class in first semester. but so did we in daycare in elementary school. yep.

so, i dont have the slightest clue what im majoring in.
by the way the "printing" class i made the assignment for is just some secondary optional class that doesnt matter at all and is only there so that someone reads the course list and figures that maybe this is actually a design school. all the classes are this way.

everyone is insane. it is the kingdom of crazy. its a 5 year education. five. years. im on the 5th. i ve been a victim of their trap. there are no other design schools in greece so everyone thinks its the place to go. its either that or fine art school, which is ANYTHING BUT a fine art school. (but NO-ONE knows that. its like no-one has ever accessed the internets. it would only take a glimpse.) still, i would be better off if i 'd gone there instead, but my parents tried all their lives to turn me away from art.

over the past year i ve come to the conclusion that my country is really the place of dumb senseless apathetic lazy trash people that is adveritsed for. and i couldnt care less if it burned.

haha i know im talking to myself again but its been fun

You're totally selling me on your school. I wanna be a parametric program!! Funnily enough, I learned some of the math behind subdivision for 3D modeling, because I heard it was supposed to help you predict stuff about how your model will behave (hell no), and some of that included going over basic bezier. Interesting, but pointless.

    Also nice doodles.

    Your sketchbook is wonderful.
I see a lot of dedication and evolution here.
I would like to see a video of your process in these digital paintings.

Great stuff Sparekiss! Those sketchbook pages are looking really good. I like the sci-fi girl in post #123. For your character designs, remember the three basic shapes (circle, square and triangle) and what each of them communicates. Base your characters on them. This might help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUZHfnlKggI

diamandis thanks pal yea, completely pointless... especially when the class is so detatched from practicality, i doubt anyone understands what these are even all about. its just math. and im not sure if the teachers even knows what these things mean either lol.

robertyo thanks for the boost! i was thinking about recording some process, because i think it will show me the general dynamic of how i work like maybe see my mistakes and where im struggling. watching recordings of my self play when i was a gamer helped improving so maybe it applies here too

fllamjr hey his stuff is dope thats a nice compliment thanks, maybe too kind!!

jephyr thanks man! makes me happy! hehe humor is my second middle name!

dennis glad you like them!! value is something im really cracking my brain about lately, i even had a dream once about how values work and everything made sense in the dream but of course when i woke up i didnt remember shit haha. if only it was that easy!

fantasyartist thanks a lot man! very nice video, these are very interesting stuff i wanna get more into character design seems so hard but very fun! my characters are just generic humans at this point cause im still learning fundamentals of the figure but these kinda stuff is definately what im gonna be going for in the future

    ---

here's a random sketch, if when i wake up tomorrow the compo looks good ill try making something out of it. maybe would be cooler if they all looked at the camera. i always tend to make girl torsos too long but i kinda like it, dunno if it looks weird

Man, both you and fllamjr are easily better than me at this point, and will only get better--you guys are still drawing and learning new things, and I'm barely doing either anymore, at least 2D-wise.

dennis i wanna type a freaking heart emoji but it deletes all the text after it when i post wtf. anyway (heart emoji)

im doing schoolism gestures again and im supposed to pick an animal and learn to draw it without reference before proceeding to next lesson. im looking forward to what we re gonna do with it! a session where i translate the poses of the model to how my animal would do them? that would be sick! my fav animal is crocodile but would be too hard to move it around without stylising it a lot.so i picked my next fav which happens to be the schoolism logo

It may sound far fetched but i think the pixie has the expression of a black blues guitarist playing a sick solo.

    jephyr thanks bro!
tiggeraz and diamandis not only i loled too but now i have to think of a black guitarist playing a sick solo every time i want to draw an orgasm face

sketchesss. i wanna find a way to make simple color sketches digitally that look sketchy and feel sketchy to do, without me having to change layerrs and do digital tricks all the time. but since i dont know color , even in such simple flat sketches i have to add a seperate layer for each base color so that i can tweak them seperately after i put them all... and that kills it for me. im just gonna have to wait until i can pick the right colors with first try by eye.

    thats my char tessa

I don't know why but that desk chair drawing is really impressive. I like it a lot. Maybe it's cause I've tried drawing my desk chair from looking at it and know how hard it is or maybe it's the marker values on top, something about it is just really awesome. My weirdness aside, really good updates, it seems like you're working very hard and putting out some great and varied work. I think for the schoolism class you then have to draw the creature doing all kinds of action/poses right? Looking forward to seeing how that progresses. Awesome work!

thanks my friend, its probably the copics they make everything look cool even if you dunno how to use them hehe. recently got them and was surprised myself of how nice they are, though i decided not to use them again until i understand how they re supposed to be used cause man they re expensive... and there are people making paintings with copics and i struggle to figure which one to use out of the 3 i got.
as for my studies everything is frozen right now. its school finals and i dont have time for drawing and even if i do im too exhausted from all the bullshit for my mind to be able to study properly.

did this sketch today between things. think i finaly figured something to make cheree as interesting as my other two chars. its a scuba suit that she wears half of it and lets the sleeves hang. they kinda compliment her flowy theme i think. im trying to make iconic looks for my chars, like "simple cut" designs that make sense with their personalities. (and are easy to draw hehe.) the suit could also have something to do with her mutation, which is dropping her temperature until she has no heat signature and be ignored by thermal equipment and stuff. she could use it to somehow maintain... i dunno yet haha. at first it just came up as something silly she would feel comfortable in.
