    EOW #285: Iconic Fortress

A symbolic structure, timeless and representative of the centuries before it. A legendary place with a steep history that acts as a marker for the country it originates in.

The due date is two weeks from now: January 19, 2017.

OK, guess I'll just post then, 10 years (!!!) since last time...

    BACKSTORY:
I imagined some dark twisted version of the "Once Upon a Time... Life" (great '80s children's educational animation which illustrates human anatomy from inside).
The fortress here is a cancerous monument build around this world's "heart". Builders are moth/termite like cancer-creatures with short lifespan and limited intelligence so they don't realize they are also slowly bringing on their own demise.

Great work everyone! I hope to participate more in the future!

The dragon shaped fort of the old factory sits quietly over the small town in the mountains. Some say that the old manager is still sitting up there in dragons eye, making plans to do something marvelous or perhaps something terrible.

N'Aaaaaargh, the Fortress Unvanquishable; icon, symbol, and stronghold of the Dim Lord Garthimble and his younger brother Teddy.

Defeated, after centuries, at the Battle of the Drizzly Fields (where the source of their might, the gold-plated One Fob, was misplaced, apparently for all time, by Teddy's [now ex-] girlfriend Stacy), they retreated to their tower among the icy peaks of the Uthmold Gump Mountains, where they plot Eternal Revenge, almost certainly drink too much, and leave endless voicemail messages for Peter Jackson, trying to interest him in a movie treatment of their life story.

I vote for Alembic, cause his story involves drunk war whores and an annoyed Peter Jackson.... except he's not in the voting poll?

-zyrq, I take back what I said earlier. I totally misunderstood your pic. Very very nice concept.

-Oouah, Really love that silhouette. Would have loved to have seen it in color.

-alembic, sorry my impatient butt didn't wait to vote for you. I'm always in awe of artists like you who can keep their paintings rough looking. Try as I might, I can't seem to stop blending everything.

-edgarej. Your artwork sucks. Don't even try. I would burn your face if I could.
