Call for Submissions: Winter Art Show, January 2017, Armory Cafe (Somerville, MA, USA
Arts at the Armory invites local artists of all ages and experience
levels to participate in our “Winter Art Show”, to be exhibited in
our Cafe in Somerville, MA, USA, during the month of January 2017.
We are looking for all kinds of creative artistic expressions having a
winter theme of some sort. Snowy landscapes, hats and scarves,
snowshoes, fireplaces, hockey, all things to do with winter. Perhaps you
have your own associations with winter… Art emerging from your own
associations is fine assuming its pertinence to the winter theme is at
least marginally evident in the piece or pieces.
You may submit multiple times, up to 5 pieces per artist. There is no
fee to submit!
Any technique and medium is welcome (photography, painting, charcoal,
mixed media, sculpture, watercolor, drawing, etc). However, submitted
pieces must be able to hang from the wall in a reasonably sized area,
i.e. no free standing sculpture, no grand scale pieces which cover an

Subject matter must be suitable for all ages to view
No bigger than 14”x 17” finished size
No fee to submit
How to Submit:
- Send jpegs of each of your pieces to email@example.com.
(Original format will be requested subsequently for all pieces selected
for the show.)
- Make the subject of your email submission: “Winter Art Show
- Each jpeg should be named as “Artist_Name_#.jpg”. The # will
indicate the order of your submissions. The artist’s name should be
included in the file name. E.g., "Mary_Smith_1.jpg", "Mary_Smith_2.jpg",
- In the email, include a list of your submissions, indicating medium(s)
and title for each piece. E.g., for Mary_Smith_1.jpg, the entry might
be: 1. Charcoal, "Snowbirds"
