wooa..... fantastic! but I agree, it does look a little flat. bring out the darks in the background of the "tunnel" at least... I think that'll help. I'll print these out/put into pdf/ SOMETHING when I get home. By the way... I know I met you before at the SF workshop, but I'm having trouble remembering your real name... was it ben? something? where do you live? a/s/l lolol kekegege? private message me or something, I'd love to get in touch.

wips would be awesome, but would there be any way I could possibly plead to get the large rez versions? (or not, and then I'll just make like a flip book or something)

as to a picture of me; sorry, but I'm in NYC atm, and on my laptop. I don't have my pics here, but I do have my tablet. which is still awesome. so I'll post a pic when I get back.

I was looking through your thread and was wondering how old you are.
I thought you´d be like 20. And you´re the same age as me!

auto_matt: Hah thanks erm i didnt get kicked out of any highschool, but i did fail highschool art in it. (its here in switzerland but it does the international baccalaureate, if that means anything to you :/)

    Flaskpost: *laughs* thanks

JeroArt: Thanks for the kind words ^__^ thats nice to hear.

Panda: Thats what i was saing earlier, these ARE the versions there are no high res one :/ which i kinda regret, but o well.

and here are some wips for you:

sorry about the narsty jpg artifacts but it was huge and i really had to compress it. Umm it was all done in photoshop with the same brush (chalk 23 pixels) with shape dynamics on... I work really high opacity, which is probably a bad thing :/ and i feel like a bit of a tool doing this and its only cause you asked, im not really in a position to write tutorials and shit i dont know enough >__< so take it with a grain of salt, i might be doing the totally wrong thing.

Love your drawings, there is a bit more life or something in them than in your digitals, although they are also great.

oh nice; ok. I'm gonna make a little gloss print book of those, with all your comments with it. it'll look badass. photos posted once I actually do that, hehe.

ummm.... thanks for the wip! I'm gonna assume that in the first one, you used white and black brushes both. otherwise, I am now very confuxed.

I've been doing digital painting recently, that helps a lot. I'll try to blend a lot less, as it seems to help to have shadows and highlights a lot more generalized.

Panda: like i said dude printing em out will be all pixely and stuff, there not high enough resolution to print.

And erm, in the first one it hardly matters, what you do, i jes kept it simple, umm it was white and black brushes, i was just ccolour picking, too lazy to erase, and then i kicked it on a multiply layer, so it doesnt really matter if you erased it or painted it white, then the colours came on the canvas underneath it, and at a certains point i merged it to paint over the op of it. Umm, i think you should blend my work suffers BADLY cause i dun do it enough.

Xaya:Thanks, and heh yeah, i dun really know, i should paint more traditionally maybe some nice stuff would come outa it.

Auto_matt: Yeah man im in basel, and my highschool was an international school, *shrug* i dunno, thanks for the comment

Dig those enviros. They're loose, but they've come a long way, I think from those original Feng like enviros I remember you posting about a year ago.

It was really awesome to sit and sketch with you, even more so to enviously watch you do those thumbs while I was stuck making chicken scratches in Flash all day. I think your 4th and 5th thumbs are the most successful, since you moved that vanishing point off the board.

Also, your gestures from the Commons are excellent, better than mine IMHO. Your shading is conservative but adds just enough dimension to the figures; it was actually these doodles that inspired me to shade my sea turtle

hehe, dude, I like this one, especially the cloth billowing out from the towers. However, it doesn't seem like you really considered the color of the light you put in. It's extremely warm to the left of the picture, yet the leaves and other pieces don't seem affected (at least colorwise).

    Just thought that might help.

By the way, if you were wondering why I don't update my sketchbook, it's cos I've been doing digital painting thread and COW.

it was kind unsuccesful, and it looks rushed and underworked :/

I love #21! It took me like five minutes to find the guys. I like that you're adding architecture into them a lot more. The bridge in #22 is great!

I think your digital stuff seems to lose a bit of life when compared to the pencil renderings which are choice
