Some interesting concepts in here, bud. Just wanted to encourage you to keep it going! Give us some life drawings, anatomy studies and more study oriented stuff! Sometimes you have to do the stuff you don't care for in order to get the other stuff to look better and let me tell you it's true! It really works. Keep it up!

thats my plan, to use this sketchbook as a learning oppurtuity.

I have some life studies from when i went to the park, Ill do more this weekend when i go out if it does not rain.

practise makes perfect, ive started a routine, to at least draw a ittle bit each day.

i dare say that those arent going to get you anywhere beyond where you are already...
try getting some more detail in, only then can you start seeing where your anatomy needs work. those prove nothing but that you know humans have 2 arms, two legs, and a head...
looking forward to future posts, and check out my sketchbook
    cheers,
    odt

cool man, studying the skull is good. when you're drawing from life, try to draw what you see with minimal lines...try and place things right the first time. scratching everything out like that doesn't do much for you (or me, or anyone). It's difficult...but try and capture things in the fewest possible lines. then you can get more down, and it'll look better too. (and your discipline between your hand and your eye will increase).

I self-published a book on the fundamentals of drawing from life.

after drawing so long without disipline; its difficult to break the habit, but ive been soaking up as much info as i can here, and the more crits and opinions i get the better i hope to get. i will try to do the simple lines, you mean like stick figures sort of? or the outline of the figure? I guess jsut try and capture the figure quicker and in few smooth strokes.

Thanks ive been a big fan of twisted metal type games since TM1, I hope to some day work on such a game. greatest idea for a game ever IMO.

the first 3 are a link to nova's work, and the 4th is a link to Bojees sketchbook. They've both got alot of examples of what I mean by using fewer lines when sketching from life. They incorporate thier own style, which you will find for yourself. but they are good examples of clean and competent drawing from life.

yea I love Bojees work, he captures everything so cleanly and adds a nice exagerated touch to each figure. I ahve some ink figure studies from the weekend before the pencil ones. same park, different people, they are much cleaner, ill try and scan them tommarow night (only time i can scan, unless weekend)

here are 3 random sketch book pics (there are still several on the photobucket site that I havnt shown (for those interested)

need to finish my thunderdome entry this weekend, for the san fran workshop *dreams*

my son, quickly done in bic pen while eating lunch yesterday, my wallpaper on my work computer as reference.

hehe, cool. its good you aren't afraid to draw from imagination...i struggle with that.

Also...in addition to Bojee and nova, check out Xia. Xia has AWESOME gestures.

These are all my homies from the Seattle Sketch night...they are so awesome

Yea I need FLorida Sketch night here.

Drawing from imagination is my favorite part ( like to think its my strong point ) I get tired of seeing the same ol stuff.

Now Its all about getting the image in my head and the image on the paper to match.
