it's been decided that one day I will challenge fox again...only we'll do characters so I don't have to suck so much.
Evidence that creatures clearly are not my forte:

hmm fox got my vote, i think his is certainly more spophisticated/smart looking, your looks very "oger" rob. Nice fox no smudging, or very little. O and his left arm is screwed up. nice one guys. Time limit was the standard 2 hours BTW

    cool stuff.
seeing as I'm bored, I've decided to give a li'l explaination of my design...simple as it may be.

Being that he resides in a low oxygen atmosphere I gave him the tree protrusions to indicate one of 2 things.....either that the tree bits would provide him with his own sort of air enriched body atmosphere, or that he breathed in the non-oxygen stuff in the air, like a tree does.

To indicate that he was sophisticated and intelligent, I gave him an expressive face...and a mouth seemingly fit for talking.
The pose, originally intended to be sort of monkey/gorilla-ish, was a shout out to Beast(from X-Men)...a sophisticated/intelligent creature himself.

swamp environment-wise, I gave him pretty big feet, so he wouldn't just sink into the muck....and a slight bit of webbing on the toes for those deeper swampy areas where he might need to swim.

...and some warts & stuff....big round head for a li'l touch of swamp-toadiness

hopefully that makes the design appear a little less lame. Heh.
