Lightbulb Games that you would play more than Sleep in a day.

Basicly games from your life that had you glued for hours on end trying beat a level, or score, or just playing with friends. add systems to your list as needed. dreamcast, saturn ect. ewww

for me ( this is off the top of my head)

Pre NES- to many to list at this moment, could be a seperate theread

NES- contra, the two basic food groups, when these were presented to me I couldnt put the controller down.

Genesis or SNES- Mortal Kombat was a bad one for me me and my brother would actauly get up early to play this one.

PS1- resident evil one and two, I can still play these and enjoy them jsut fun to play and visually moist.
Twisted Metal one and two, Rogue trip. when these games came out, mt dew became my diet and battles amongst my bro and friends would go for hours on end. Granturismo was bad too (no explanation needed for that one).

PS2, with out a doubt champ is Vice City and Turismo, the games that never end. (driving game nut here, but i like to deal out the ocassional beating)

    theres a start.

    discuss

    Drew

My first all nighters started with Starcraft.

then, Diablo II consumed the most, 3-4 years, 3 summers, and homework got in the way of 3 years of highschool.

    Unreal Tournament

    Rune

    AvP2 lan parties.

    counterstrike ( now cs:source :/)

and already and soon to be... world of warcraft. this one might even rival my d2 days.
    Motivation...gone.

    Sketchbook be here...

    Exactly.

Quake - Never been more addicted to any game than this. Played fellow co-workers at a videogame company, and online, best times ever for playing against other people in a game.

Other games I was addicted to, to the point of insane anger of dying and continuing, cause rage, punching walls, and throwing shoes and other weird object at my nintendo off switch.

Contra - Those cheap enemy bullets.

Meteroid 1 - It's a bitch when you get no power or missles when desperatly needed, and your lost, and everything looks the same.

Zelda 3 - Lost in the ice cave in the evil world all night long.

Final Fantasy 3/6 - Fanatics tower. Spent many sleepless days and nights there.

Double Dragon 1 - Beginning of level 4 and it's wall of death, and the last boss and his cheap bullets.

Ninja Gaiden - So many hours and days, weeks, of jumping over cheap birds, ditches, ninjas, etc. It actually took me a few years break, then return to play it in college, then I finally beat it...and had a pizza.

There's many others, but I'll end this with...

Turtles 1 - The hell with that game, I still didn't beat it, due to the incredible cheapness in the technodrome right before you fight shredder.

PC - I have to agree with CS, it is just too easy to get on it and look at the clock 6 hours later. Then you finally remember to blink.ssssccrrrratttchhhhh.
WC3 had me going too. WoW is going to end my life as I know it.

PS - FF7 was the first form of addiction, it was just too pretty and too fun, curse you squaresoft!!

Genesis - Had to be double dragon, and the video clipped boxing game that played in black in white.

my first all-nighters probably started with non-linear games like:
    darklands and civilization

i'm probably the only geek who played those types of games. since then i've gotten caught up in the whole final fantasy series, starcraft and warcraft, and recently its been: resident evils, supermaro sunshine, windwaker, and now fable

does anyone remember sierra's kings quest and heros quest series? those really got me good when i was a tyke.

I go through times where I can get extremely addicted to games. All online games, there's no way a single player game could match the replayability of online games. I'll try to remember the main ones.

Infantry: Was a free open beta game for years... logged almost 2,000 hours... yes, 2k hours. Was a top down shooter type action game.. extremely well-done.

Phantasy Star Online: Probably had over 1000 hours in all the variations.. mainly on the xbox version, it's such a moronic and repetitive game too.. same levels, playing against the exact same enemies, over and over.. damn that game.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein: The fps I've played more than any other, had it since it came out years ago, still play it.. still think it's the best multiplayer fps game in alot of ways.

Luckily I haven't got addicted to any MMORPG type games.. except ragnarock online, which I played religiously for a month, while it was free. Actually, MMORPG aren't too bad.. one's with downtime let me sit around drawing.

These days I'm playing Counterstrike: Source... and it is fairly addictive. I actually never played the older counter-strikes.. the physics in this one are a blast, you can block doors with filing cabinets and do all kinds of fun stuff, although it definitely needs to be refined more. The future of FPS games is looking amazing.

    ooh, fun topic ^-^

the absolute king of all nighters for me has to be 4 player splitscreen perfect dark and goldeneye for N64. i would go over my friends house with my brother, bring our pads, and our other friend would come over, and just play from about 5pm all night and morning, breaking only for some junk food, and then go to sleep at about 10am ^-^

    other games:

N64 - mario 64, zelda:oot, snowboard kids, mario kart 64, jet force gemmini

gamecube - super smash bros. melee, burnout, resident evil 1 remake, phantasy star online: I&II, zelda:ww, burnout 2, hitman 2, XIII, and ofcourse, the king of the gamcube all nighters is timespliters 2

PC: Half Life & Counter-Strike, and Age of Empires 2.

Sega Genesis: There was an X-Men game that I enjoyed. I forget the title, though. I have the cart upstairs with the genesis. I might have to dig it out sometime to day, and play.

Snes: Mystical Ninja, Super Mario RPG, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Kirby Superstars, and Super Metroid.

Gameboy - Gameboy Advanced: Soloman's Lair, Pokemon Red/Blue, Warioland 3, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Donkey Kong Land, Golden Sun, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Metroid Fusion, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and Gameboy Camera. Oh man, did I ever love my gameboy camera.

N64 - Harvest Moon, Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Mario Tennis 64, Zelda: OOC, the one Yoshi storybook type game, Duke Nukem 64, and Tony Hawk 1-3.

Dreamcast - Jet Grind Radio, Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, and a little bit of Rez.

Gamecube - Tony Hawk Underground, NHL 2004, Super Monkey Ball, Star Wars: Rogue Leader, Mega Man: Anniversary Collection, and Mario Sunshine.
    Ho hum!

    king of n64

I to loved RTCW, running around w/ a tommy gun pelting people raiding your castle in multiplayer, and the actaul 1 player was nice, short but nice, the paratrooper rifle ruled.
