    Hi there

It's good to see that you're focusing on figure drawing in your dsb... anatomy studies are so important so keep it up!
I really like the self portrait, even if it doesn't look like you
Maybe you could add a little more darker values to your drawings as to create more depth.

    Great start for your dsb
    keep it up

    cheers.t

Such a sad look on the last woman's face, you did a great job capturing her expression. I like the look of the unfinished sketches, I always seem to like the contrast from the unfinished parts to the completed pencil parts.

It is also the first try with oil papier... (55x70cm or something like that)

so ok total time about 3 hours

I enjoy your loose pencil and oil style, most of the porportaions are pretty good, though the priest or cardinal's hand is a tad bit small. Really nice stuff, its great to see your process as well.

well, finally i managed to shot my self portrait,
worked about 3 days, so about 8-10 hours in all.

The snapshot doesn´t quite fit the true colors but looks quite nice.

    Oil on canvaz (linen), ~60x40cm
(the original is not that nicely dark)

    after 5min

    after about 10hours

    close up

Hmmmm....realy, realy great faces, specialy those in oils.
You're damn good on these so to speak. Like how you use minimum palette.
At the lounge, there's a thread on most underrated artists on ca.org, remember your name being mentioned there. (Should I be wrong, I'd say that somebody better mentioned your name there )
Perhaps you might whant to shift your attention from faces to the human body as a whole. So you could transfere psychological expressions to limbs n fingers, overall silhuette, samewell.Feet look real bad in comparisson with face on this one; http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/6963/e38be.jpg, for example.
What and where do you study now?

    So long...

    hey ho!

well, i don´t know what´s happening but i decrease in energy and concentration.

well here is the last practice i did successfully.
Each painting was done in about 15 to 25min.
So about 3 hours at all.
    And no ref. !
Looking at it now it is not really that fine...

    Xaya

I'm loving some of these sketches. The reference sketch of the short-haired girl is beautiful. I'm hoping you finish the picture below with the small crowd of people, or at least flesh it out with some rough colours. Good job!

Hey, thanks for posting in my sketchbooks. My turn to return the favor

love everything in your sketchbook...I can see a couple flaws in the anatomy, in the torso and feet. Your sketchbook is very inspiring to me as well, I'm a figure fanatic and I like to draw faces.

    Keep it goin'!
