So the first thing I've been working on is perspective and also my control when it comes to my lines. I've also worked hard on my shading here but I think I need to do more tones within the shadows themselves.

Great start! Those perspective studies look great, I can definitely see your commitment to getting better in these last few posts.

Thanks Jhetzul! Here are some more. I was trying in these to practice my strength of line and shading a bit more.

and just for fun....some fanart from Batman

I will get round to producing my own work but right now I'm going to stick to fundamentals and studies until my basic skills improve.

Seeing you practice, shows how much effort you put into improving your skill. Very inspiring! Thank you for linking your old sketchbook. I have looked through a short part of it and am using a lot of advice other users have provided you. Thank you for posting your work!

Also, did you have a specific order of practicing? I see you worked on various parts of anatomy. Did you focus on one and move on, or do you work little of each part that you wanted to improve?

    Hi and thank you Ekrall!
Well I've been drawing for a long time now, so some things I can do well and some things I can't. What I'm trying to do is revisit the fundamentals like basic shapes, perspective, value, strength of line etc and at the same time do anatomical studies because they compliment each other [and I like to draw people but I don't have proportions down yet]. I do pretty much what you said, work a little on each area that I want to improve, and then try to bring them all together before starting something new

    Thanks for your comment!

Starting a master study for practice - so far the basic sphere exercises have helped. I have managed to age her by about 10-15 years though ><

Cloth study from life - this is pretty much the first one I've ever done. I think the dark and light tones are not really distinct enough, in some places it doesn't really look like cloth.

Hopefully today I'll do some more masterpiece studies.

Another perspective study, a set of 2 minute gesture drawings, some leg studies and I also tried to construct faces from memory, it went a bit wrong but it's better than before.

I tried some organic forms today from the dynamic sketching demo by Peter Han on youtube - started out difficult but I think it got better quickly!

I'm currently slowly working my way through an anatomy book (no chance right now to get to life drawing classes - but this should help me when I do get the opportunity!) so here are some joint and muscle studies. I also drew my own hand from observation. My thumb is very short and fat (murder's thumb it's called apparently...) but in general I think the fingers are not well proportioned yet and perhaps a bit stubby and fat.

Then for fun I drew Stitch from Lilo & Stitch, partly because I love the art from that film and partly because I love Stitch

    More perspective studies from http://www.lateralscience.co.uk/perspective/

I also studied Ctrl+Paint for figure studies and they have helped a lot - my figure drawings were a lot messier before.

Proportion studies of the face from Loomis - usually I get the jaw horribly wrong so hopefully this will help.

Charcoal and chalk drawing 10 minutes..

Proportion has improved but the butt and legs look a bit funky! I didn't have that much control over my charcoal stick either I havent used one for a long time.

    No Scanner !

So the scanner is playing up a bit with the wifi and the past few days I've been travelling a lot. I'll reupload this once I get the scanner working again I felt the need to update my sketchbook.

Some apple drawings about 10 minutes from life. 2B Pencil. And a plug, but I messed it up a bit with the lighting.

Your master studies are great! And I really like the flow of lines in your charcoal drawing.
As goes for life studies, try to find the focal points for things you draw like with the handkerchief box. It's a little off now. I know I struggle with it a lot, I was drawing some squarish bowl and my brain could not process the perspective properly trying to force the left hemisphere symbolic point of view until I put guidelines on paper and suddenly it clicked.
As goes for Ctrl+Paint, it's a great site. Matt Kohr is really good in explaining drawing and painting stuff. I think I was disappointed in only one of his paid courses.
