wow. I'm digging the SP/hand sketches. I really like that comic page you did. You keep getting better and better.

You've got a great sense of the volume when you're copying from life, but it loses some refinement when you start drawing from imagination. See if you can't develop some shadow patterns or do some construction exercises (ala Gaboartpage and Maxetormer) to develop that structure and throw some of those anatomical landmarks into alignment.

Looking friggin sweet, dude. Keep it up.

I can already see some improvement in your art from this thread :3
keep up the studies and SP's, and get more comfortable with the ink washes.

Really cool artwork here. I was looking through all of your pages, and I can definitely see an improvement. Update your website!

Rodrigo: Yeah, it's pretty good so far. I'm in first year up at University of Newcastle, but down in Sydney I think the best place to do Vis Comm design is probably the University of Technology. It's got a pretty high UAI though - in the 90s. Newcastle's is 87.3. I think maybe UNSW has a good course too, check it out as well

Thanks for the comment by the way

    Stop drawing now, please.

You're catching up too quick and appear to have actually overtaken me.

I'm serious, Rod. Your ability to render with a pencil has got amazing. You must just be drawing 24 hours a day. The big piece you're doing with the spine in it is utterly fantastic. Is that a major piece for school? If so, I can't imagine many people attaining your level before leaving high school.

Every time I see where you're up to I just get pissed off I wasn't dedicated and have an amazing online community like this when I was your age. Wicked, dude.

    You still going to Ashton?

Rod, nice progression, bud. You're really coming along quite well! Nice to see that someone is putting in some effort.

I think the self portrait stuf is really strong. The studies are really great too. Man, it's been a long while since I've stopped in here. Keep up the great work! Maybe I'll actually post again someday. Probably not. lol You keep it up though. You're rocking really hard these days. Take care, bro.

Great updates! Sorry to hear about all the friggin stress -- I hope the exam goes well.

Btw, That last sp is friggin' awesome.

..you've done so many anatomy studies that you might want to consider a career in sports medicine/physical therapy. Keep it up!

Doctor Bone is in the House

Glad to see you are doing well ~~~ updates looking real good ~~~ talk yourself through the anatomy studies ~~~ try to analyze and not just copy ~~~ this bone goes over that bone this muscle starts here and attaches here etc etc etc ~~~ also read the copy until your brain hurts

    Yo!

As usual muchacho you are doing great (i am SO gonna have to learn spanish one of these days). I always love your anatomy studies and this time around my favourite one is the less than fit guy on the last page. Top stuff. You should look at Mitch Byrd's stuff from the SKETCH mag if you want to see great large women. *S* More, more.
