Question Ahh! Everyones better than me!

Hey there! Just joined concept art...or just figured out how to change my password anyways. At any rate, I'm new here, and the amount of talent and skill flying all over this site is astounding, discouraging, encouraging, and overwhelming all at the same time! Anything I should know about the site? Thank ye kindly for your time, that is if you respond. If not, thanks for checkin in anyways

you should have seen this place 10 years ago. Best advice is be humble and post daily in your sketch book. don't compare your self to others, instead reflect on your own growth while aiming to match the skills of the artist you admire. Were all in transition and artist only stops growing when they think they have " made it"

Everyone here has very different styles. One way to ease the nerves is to look at the very beginning of sketchbooks and then the latest pieces - everyone shows improvement. So do not be discouraged just keep posting

I do get how it can be discouraging, the thing is that no one is born great, its mainly practise that gets you there. So just keep going, and familiarise yourself with the idea that it will take time, lots of it, to get better. Its so slow, thats why its all the more impressive when you get there. Because if you really want to, and are willing to work for it, you will. Same applies to me, im still a beginner myself.

I doubt whether your work could be remotely as bad as mine, but that doesn't stop me from going straight ahead and doing it anyway. :-)

    A CHALLENGER APPEARS
(though it's all clear in my case - I'd definitely be better than now if I've been drawing more often than once per six months and been doing an actual practice)
