I really don't think you need a book that expensive, nor that extensive unless you just particularlly wanted that specific book for some deep reason. It sounds like a medical text book (which are always extremely pricey.)

Most of my indispensable anatomy books are $30 or less and I can usually find them at a discount on Amazon. Here's a short list:

Human Anatomy for Artists: The Elements of Form by Eliot Goldfinger
This is the most expensive book I own, it retaled at $65 but I found it at Amazon for $32. If you wanted something with medical style descriptions, this will do.

Anatomy for the Artist by Sarah Simblet
My favorite, lots of beautiful b & w and color photos. It's published by DK Books, they always put out excellent reference books.

The Figure in Motion by Thomas Easley
    Self explanitory. B&W photos.

    Boris Vallejo's BODIES
Features mostly one type of build (buff) but gives a good idea of muscularture and lighting.

Drawing Human Anatomy by Giovanni Civardi
Nice soft cover quick reference you can get off of Amazon for less than $9.00.

Also DK books has a Kama Sutra title that I found useful for some contorted poses (really, that's what I bought it for ). I can't find mines but if you search on Amazon I'm sure you will find it. Be warned though, the photos are kind of effected meaning soft lighting and that sorta thing, I guess in a cheesy attempt to set a mood.

    Hope this helps...

Yea, you're probably right. Primary reason I was interested was that from the sounds of it, the book sounds like it goes into motions, dynamics, and limitations of anatomy in some detail, sounded sort of like The Human Machine by Bridgeman but more fleshed out. I guess I could figure that kind of stuff out with more studying I will definitely hold out on it until I have a better grasp of anatomy. I dunno was just wondering if anyone had checked it out.

See if you can find it at a local library and check it out for yourself
A college library may have if a public library doesn't.
