What should we do about the last offical thunderdome?

We got caught up with the last workshop when judging was suppose to happen on Thunderdome 7... and we appologize for that.

At the current time about 40% or even more of the images for the contest are broken links...

So what we could do is, 1) Request everyone to repost their images, which could take...a month or more.... OR 2) we could move on to Thunderdome 8, which we have a topic for already.

Let me know what you guys think...

    i'm obviously voting for 2.

    we need to judge it

we need to judge it and also get the prizes we have out to the top entries.

I want to do this right. Things are already messed up with the tdome and we need to right them and move on as quickly as possible.

I will get the people who have red x images in their post an email tomorrow.

you could always use the prizes for the next TDOME...

We could do both at the same time

Just a hint for the next td...when the finished pieces are online, the admins or mods should save all images somewhere, it's obvious that many members dont have large webspace accounts to hold the pics for so long online...

Anyway i think we definitely should judge the td7...if we don't many artists won't participate for the next one, since they will think it wont be judged anyway...

People have put a lot of hard work into their TD7 entries and I think it would be grossly unfair to them to just pass them by. I say judge TD7, but give a firm deadline (I think 2 weeks is fair) to have everyone get their images either back up, or to an admin.

Just make sure to post a big ass anouncement all over the place to the participants don't miss it.

I say move on. Sure, people put alot of work into their pieces, but frankly, it'd just take too long to judge all those.

    TD8... mmm....

That's a pretty shitty attitude, Silvir...if you propose they take the "ahh, screw it, it would take too long" attitude on TD7, how are you going to feel when the time to judge TD8 comes around and they do that to your work?

well, in the time it takes to judge, everyone could be doing a piece twice as good as they turned in for the last one.... we could have had a couple thunderdomes by now. if people are really insistant to wait and judge, i can respect that. but it seems to me the easiest route is to go get your battle on ASAP in TD8

Who's to say they can't announce the next TD while they're judging? It doesn't take any effort from the participants for the judging.

I agree with fukifino and Jason. And fozzy's idea isn't half bad - I can't see why you can't announce the next thunderdome before this one has been judged.
A neat idea for the tdome entries is to allow people to upload them to the ca server. I'm not exactly sure how to do that, though. I'll have to think of something. Perhaps just something as simple as an upload form which uploads the image to a thunderdome gallery page of some sort.

To be honest, I did participate in this tdome. I spent a while on my piece, too. Do I mind going to the next one? Nah. It's just art, right? You'll learn something from your piece whether it's judged or not. But hey, don't listen to me, I'm just a crazy n00b.

Heh, I didn't even participate, so don't listen to me. Oh well, things will be what they are, I suppose.

I say we bury TD7 deep, deep, deep.. and never mention it again.

Besides, i want to do TD8 (i really want to kick some fellow artists ass, hehehehe... well, i do.. and so do you, so lets do it.).. if we can get that started ASAP and get TD7 judged at the same time, so much better, but i'd rather see a new one soon, then wait another month or whatever for the old one to get judged.

    Aaaaahhh....wtf?

TD's are going for 1-2 months usually, so where's the problem when the jury will judge td7 simultaneously...judging will take about a few days after getting all the images...the attendants shouldn't care....it's not that they can't draw without a judging of td7, isn't it?

So let's call the participants of td7 for their images, get the jury in start positions, kick off the new td8 and let things roll...

Just throw up the topic to TD8 and figure out the winner of TD7 while the new one is rolling.

I sure am glad Thunderdome 8 was judged promptly! And I'm sure glad that Thunderdome 7 was finally judged!

Let's bury them both and move on to Thunderdome 9!!!

I always hit my deadlines. Can I use this "judging" time to update my image? I've learned a lot lately....
