    Unhappy Pencil eater~!

Every hand held pencil sharpener iv found ends up just eating my pencils. Sharpening them at first then snapping off the led so I have to start over again. Is there a better brand or do I not have the proper pencil sharpening skills or something? Is it all in the wrist or do I have to mentally prepare to sharpen for days in advance? Maybe I need a sharpening coach. Who knows?

Why dont you just buy a mechanical pencil? I use both wooden pencils and a mechanical pencil. I have a nice plug in sharpener that does all the sharpening for me. I suggest you get one of those, but I'd also give mechanical pencils a try as well.

Seriously now, I use a simple Staedtler (had to look on how to spell that name) mars lumograph sharpener. If your pencils snap it's usually because the lead or whatever core it has is already broken. A dropped pencil will almost always have a broken core. This is why I avoid the pen display holder and go for boxes instead of units.
By the way, I hardly ever sharpen whenever it's for sketching or animating *unless* I have to make a cleanup.
