    About Bicycle Locks!

Hey guys. I received this from my boyfriend. If you own an expensive bike you would definitely benefit from reading this. One of my fiends tested all his 3 locks using this method and they all broke.

Hi guys, just putting out the heads up that Bicycle U-locks are NOT safe,
they can be opened VERY easily, so DON'T use them.

    See:
    http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=66128

This is not bull! If you like your bike, don't use these locks. Especially
Kryptonite locks apparently. Other locks may be easier / harder to open.

PS: Here's dramatic (as if the forum wasn't enough) evidence...this is NOT a
    hoax http://67.19.221.38/4.wmv

Spread this message far and wide and get the word out about these locks!

    Fred

There's this girl I really can't stand who bikes to work on occasion. I think I'll pick her up one of these locks as a gift and then go steal her wheels.

    Thanks for the hook up.

I saw this a few days ago and worse it affects motorbike locks, ive now got about £150 quids worth of insurance approved (so they give you discount) locks in doors that do jack.

Not sure whether im glad they showed us this or bad that they showed us and the pilfering dickheads this!

BTW its not just U-locks. It affects boa-locks(chain type things), and staple/disk locks. Just use a hefty chain and a lock that uses a key for now.

TBH though if some knob's gonna pilfer your bike then hes gonna get it. Good or bad lock on.

Well this is hardly news.... its been known for about 12 years (and now there is a link on Wired to this), and I think it's a better thing to give you guys a heads up because people that do this sort of thing probably know about it anyway. Remember security through obscurity doesn't work (ie. Windows security).

And no you were right ... it is fiends BOW DOWN TO YOUR LOCAL DEMONIC MASTER* AND PAY HIM HIS DUE ... preferrably in the form of praise
