I'm sorry little confused, did you just ask if there is a Star Wars concept art book? Well to tell you the truth I own 5 and that isn't even the tip of the iceberg, there are also companions and prop books among other things. Check out amazon.co.uk search for 'star wars production', if you don't want a pure concept art book go for the making of books they're pretty good the spiderman2 and hell boy ones are pretty damn good. Most waterstones and borders have pretty good film based concept art books, although I'm not too sure about video game stuff.

There are there wonderful art of Lotr books (one for each of the movies), five books for starwars(one for each of the movies once again) and one for Hayoa Miyazaki's Spirited Away that I absolutely adore.

Any of the "Art of..." books for Pixar movies are good, especially the Finding Nemo book. The movie itself is visually stunning, and the drawings/paintings/sketches/etc that went into those 3D underwater environments and characters are nuts.

And as mentioned, the Start Wars books are great too.

Alot of these books are on shelves at the big book stores like Barnes & Noble around the time the particular movie is in theaters, so you can check them out in person before buying. After that you can usually find them on Amazon.com.

Just today I got Stephan Martiniere's QUANTUM DREAMS. It's awesome! Although I'm a bit biased :-)

I loved seeing his drawn sketches alongside the digital finishes. Nice design of the book as well...full page images!

And I'll second the thumbs up on any of the pixar books. Just faboulous.

the one for "Aliens" is excellent goes much deeper into the techy side of things and a lot of stuff that not in the films (marine corp's tanks are pretty cool)

on a similar theme HR Giegers art books are all mind blowing and unlike everything i have ever seend before!!

also the one for "Armorgeddon" is pretty cool goes into the vehicles in more detail and suits etc etc good stuff.

if you live near a forbbien planet (shop) you will find rows and rows of them.. there's ones in: Manchester, Leeds, Stoke, Birmingham, Edinborough and many more im sure.. excellent for all concept books/manga how too's...

No, just that you wanted to know if there were any Star Wars concept art books, and there are a lot of good ones. Probably some at your local library!

the matrix was concepted by Geof Darrow, if I remember correctly. Anyone that has seen the artbook? The movie pretty much sucks but I'd really like to see the conceptwork behind it.

I agree with everyones recommendations above, but you should also check out "Monstruo- The Art Of Carlos Huante"(two thumbs up!) aand the other books at Design Studio Press.

A fantastic book that is one of my favorites is "Colorvision" by Ron Cobb. I absolutely love this book and it is a rare find if you can get a copy of it!! It is out of print, but I bought a copy of it on EBAY.

I have to agree w/MIKECORRIERO that Prince of Egypt is a great book that often falls under the radar.

Also, the Tarzan Chronicles is pretty badass...

Just ordered the Oddworld Inhabitants today....can't wait!!

Wasn't it Craig Mullins that said they just grabbed a couple of stuff lying around the studio for the Prince of Egypt book ? If that's the case, imagine what kind of art is still to be seen..
