    Sin City Trailer

    haven't seen this posted yet:

    Sin City Trailer

    (quicktime format)

don't mind the cuts to the comic book pages, they are just comparing movie shots to the same panels from the comic books showing that this is going to be a pretty faithful translation.

they won't be in the films release.

Hmm...maybe it's just me, but I really don't see the point of doing a shot for shot remake of the graphic novel the way they seem to be doing it. I mean...hasn't that story already been told in that way? Seems to me like they're really not taking advantage of the motion picture media. It look like a novel approach and all, but novelty doesn't really make a good movie.

Still, it looks visually interesting, I will say that. One of these days I'm going to have to read that series.

from my understanding, there is more than one graphic novel. this movie rolls all of them into one story. now having never read the series i cannot comment on any truth to that matter.

I think the shot by shot comparison was for robert rodreguiz to show frank miller that he's the guy that can do this film. apparently mr. miller is impressed with what has been filmed and was report to be crying during the filming of one scene since it was how he had visioned it to be. <-- take that last comment with a huge grain of salt since the media (news) likes to stretch the truth a bit.

I think the trailer looks pretty bad. It looks more like a stage play. It looks like Mickey Rourk is going to make a good Marv. He fits how I imagine him perfectly.
