good stuff man. i went to your website and i was like shit man this guy is better than he appears. anyway when we say sketchbook, we use the term loosely to tell you the truth. post some of your other work and you'll see no one will care if you posted other stuff.

Da Vinci was a concept artist
11/30/03-11/30/05. Thanks CA, for all the great inspiration. When will I update? I dont know...

these are old but i'm posting them for a change of pace. also i'm thinking about doing anatomy studies in perspective too.. since i need to practice this kind of technical drawing and i need to study more anatomy i figure why not combine both. sort of in the gottfried bammes way...

especially this one, http://www.stevekim.net/forum/galler...s_overalls.jpg, makes me smile.

not a very thoughtful answer, but want to bump the thread...

your work is dope. i really like the 'darker' content images.
reminds me of david choe and yoshitomo nara with the controlled chaotic lines and the childlike content.

    rockin' man. super inspirational.

shjoi: thx. hmm ca needs a beer icon.

miesie: any of the drawings with color were done with acrylic wash. so it's charcoal and acrylic mainly. for overalls i started off with a pen line drawing which is still sorta visible.

Jesus Steve, that shirt is insane.. I'm surprised Kato didn't put that in the case. I really love your stuff dude. So expressive than many of the other illustrators at AC. I don't know if maybe it's your scanner, but some of your scanned pics seem a little low contrast. I just seem to remember that crazy mine-horse chick being a bit more contrasty in real life.

    Anyways, keep it up.

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed, The world in arms is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from an iron cross."

    ...I have a sketchbook?

well dropping outta the class probably didn't help w/ DISPLAYCASEEGGZELLENCE

whats funny is the sketch is actually lot less contrasty irl. you just recall it being so vivid because YOU WITNESSED THE BEAUTY FIRSTHAND AND ITS BEEN SEARED INTO YOUR MEMORY IN VIVID TECHNICOLOR. i actually cheated a bit and boosted lvls to give it a little more pop :/.
