    Hi Soja
    I enjoyed looking at your sketchbook - a lot of improvement and - your sps are great! Are you doing them from mirror or using photos?
    Keep the good work

    Talking

    drawing and sharing ...both is love and passion

    before i stopped using guide lines i used them for a long time in my studies.. until i understood how to keep them in my mind..
    now .. i just draw a simple stupid circle and i know where my guidlines have to be.. the image in my head is almost perfect.. but i need tools to translate that imaginary pic onto paper :>

    these tools help ourself and help our brain*mind to understand these things
    symmetrie is really important.. but how to measure symmetrie without any help lines on a white piece of paper.. lotsa ways to get my stuff done..
    iam still using lotsa guides to help me to understand all that shit.. symmetrie is really important ^^ *to me*

    i mean.. dunno how to explain.. * i made lotsa thoughts about .. drawing.. how to learn drawing and.. how to "how to learn how to draw" ^^

    u should help ur mind with guides lines or other things .. u dont have to draw these guides in all ur pics studies..

    there are some other tips i can share with u..about foreshortening vanishing point and perspective drawing.. if u like :>

    lil doing : massive learning.. with drawing just some cubes or other studies here and there from time to time.. this would really help u learning all this.. the main learning part is covered by ur sub-cinsciousness .so u dont do anything anyways .. anyway u learn doesnt matter what u draw.. but i experienced.. that.. when i focus on the basics * perpsective cube drawing vanishing point and foreshortening* i.. improved my skill up to 350%.. and much more.. and.. ones again.. doesnt matter what i wanna draw.. i HAVE TO obey R U L E S in order to get my things drawn right/correct.. its the same when i try to walk or drive a car.. and before i start running i have to know how to walk...anyways...

    ur digitals getting better dude ! d

    tablet ? mouse?

    no prob for spending my time atm iam at work - nothing to do here.. so i draw and hang around here .. anyway anyhow i just love to share .. knowledge and other stuff.. maybe god told me

    yeaa try them .. iam corious about ur results * we can do some of these tryouts .. together on.. icq or msn .-. if u like *

    keep da **

    lazyness keeps u away from skill-improvement

    Great update. Face sketches seem to get better and better but I still see that you are missing some key landmarks here and there. I would recommend going through a batch of anatomy studies...especially the main visible muscle groups. Keep rockin!

    Looking really nice, ill be around, I like SP tons
    your doing good progress here, one thing I notice is that
    you tend to make the faces a bit too long, and wach the
    the legth of your noses too, I think some times you make that
    feature to long as well, overall nice work, keep at it and keep
    updating!

    nice stuffz

    like ur sp style

    hmm.. just a suggestion : do some simple studies for complex geometrie.. faces and heads are complex geometrie :>

    a sphere can be simplified too in order to get a feeling for its volume.. i do that for faces evryday ..its easier to learn it with simple geometrie otherwise its hard to controle the details perspective and orientation in 3Dspace*orbit when u know how to draw a simple face with each feature.. its very easy to get this more complex

    a cube is simple 3Dimensional geometrie - a face is very complex 3dimensional geometrie - when u wanna draw them.. u need lines.. its what i can do with a pencil.. i need lines for a cube too.. but.. when i wanna draw a cube i have to keep things in mind .. like angles and orientation and perspective and 3dimensionality .. thats what u need to know.. once u got the basic idea behind volume and how to create the illusion of volume*depth*3dness its very easy to shade or hatch .. in my eyes.. i cant shade or hatch any good without any ideas*knowledge about how to create*see 3D volumes*objects..

    for me there is no difference between a square and a circle or a sphere and a cube
    -> a square is a square with 4 corner
    -> a circle is a square with 360 corners

    i use simple and complex geometrie to get a feeling for drawing heads before i draw heads .. maybe i try to prevent mistakes .. but its a good way to improve *fast*

    keep up !

    i can show u how i proceed with all this if u like.. just pm or msn icq oc

    cool work, soja !

    Seems like you're using light & shadow much more to model the forms than before (putting them in the right places to show real 3D/depth) !
