    Portraits... Real-paint & digi-paint

Here's a few selfportraits from the past few nights. The top one is an acrylic paint exercise... and the other 2 are painter. Let me know what you think works and doesn't.

Eric, I'm liking the acrylic one. I especially like how you took colors, by itself, that don't 'fit' on a face like the turqoiuse up top and other bluish gray parts and somehow made everything fit together so well...I also love the skintones used. I've been trying forever to get skintones right with oils. Heh the last time I painted a self portrait I made myself a yellow tinted albino. I also like the emotion of the painting...it has a certain air of moodiness and drearyness to it. Also, is that a hint of a plumb line I see on the forehead?

Your digital ones are good too but my favorite is definetly the acrylic one. It's a personal thing I guess, I just tend to like fully rendered works more. Some pretty interesting color choices here that also somehow 'work'. Keep up the good work .
