    the UK challenges Dallas, w00t!

ok screw it, i'll start the thread, allthough molly will be the official organiser person thing.

anyway, yeah we beat seattle, so now we're challenging you lot, sooo...

    Rules:

A Dallas member must choose an opponent from the UK list.
They will have the freedom of choosing any subject they wish.
Once you have made decided subject choice and opponent, PM Molly. A list will be posted in HERE once everyone is in. Each individual match will be given a number and participants a letter.

Dallas - you have till Monday 6th Sept 04 to choose a UK opponent and challenge subject.

THE FINAL DATE FOR ENTRYS WILL BE 20th Sept 04.
(maybe we can stretch to 22nd if needs be)

please send the final images to tdome@matt-dixon.co.uk
matt dixon has kindly offered to host the images for the final thread.
    (sensible image sizes please ^-^)

label them "theme_yourname.jpg (eg: invaders_cartoonfox.jpg) (make sure both you and your apponent have the same theme name for the image)

Judging: This is gonna be another quick one, from start to finish 2 weeks, each person producing 1 drawing each. Colour, b/w whatever -
The individual challenges (1vs1) are worth one point. Everyone is equal.
Skilled artists can’t single handedly win and less skilled artists can’t single handedly lose. This is for FUN!

    judges for this minidome are:
    steak-tron
    jetpack42
    Dan Milligan
    marc_taro
    MIKECORRIERO

The winning sketchgroup is the one with the most points scored.
In the event of a tie, we’ll get Jason or someone else outside the judges to make a final decision.

As far as Challanging 2 people at a time, thats if YOUR up for it and the opponent is up for it.

    Cheers Fellas!

    Woo hoo! I'm in too!

    Matt Dixon, where are you....

But if the last one was the 'Drizzledome', what's this going to be? 'Drizzledome 2'? 'It's a bit windy out-dome'? 'Foggydome'?

    Eeehhh...

Well, as it turns out, there are quite a few people who go to the Dallas sketch Group... but I'm pretty much the only one who is also an active participant on the forum. There's also M.C. Barrett I guess, but I can't speak for him, and he hasn't come out to the sketch group in awhile (I think he mentioned it's quite a long drive for him). And there WAS poopinmymouth, who moderates the 3d section here, but I think he disqualified himself by moving to Virginia, that nerd.

But hey, it's cool, I'll take you all on.

Nimrod. Really nice stuff! I hope this happens, with folks like you and MCBarrett this could be a mighty conflict, worthy of other such battles as... well... UK versus Seattle for example...

Is poopinmymouth not still an honourary Texan then?

Well you can take the girl out of the South, but you can't take the South out of the girl! Right poop?!?

Give us 'til next Sunday... That's when we meet again. I'll tell everyone to check this thread out and start posting stuff. If everyone chickens out, well I guess you can try some other group. But, I for one, would be sorely ashamed of my fellow Texans if they backed down from a brawl! Even if it is some sort of pansy art nerd brawl...

hey, we still have loads of uk peeps not joining yet, i know some of you are busy, i i also know some of you are not ^-^

and dallas, if you want you can start looking through the uk group (3rd post) and see who you'd like to challege. remember, you get to choose everything, theme, medium, creatures, humans, mech, etc etc (well, within reason. you wouldn't choose to have a huge mech battle with someone who has never drawn them before ^-^)

this is looking to be a good match, we just need some more uk and dallas peeps.

and also, no you dont have to be going to the meetings to join. you just have to live in dallas/uk

I'm sure Matt Dixon's up for this too, far be it for me to speak on his behalf. But he's probably off doing something exciting on the Bank Holiday, unlike some of us who have yet to get lives... sniff...

since I've never done this before, are there any protocols or tips for challenging someone? I'm waiting for someone who's never done a concept in their life, like me. all's I've got is my lowly sketchbook thread, but I'm ready to bring it on...!

Also, I've not made it to the dallas sketch group cuz I live a ways away and 11:30 on a Sunday conflicts with my weekly de-heathenizing. I'm assuming I can still compete even if I can't usually if ever make the sketch group.

yeah, as long as you live in dalls, you can join ^-^

um, as for choosing someone, just look for someone who is around your skill level, and draws the same type of things as you (creatures, humans, landscapes etc etc)

    good luck
