sometimes you make decisions that adversely affect
the rest of your life...
and there isn't a single thing you can do about it,
but live with it.
and forget what life was like before
because it will never be "before" again.
there's only the present.
an aquantence told me of a girlfriend he had.
beautiful girl who suffered from manic depression.
she was a meth addict too.
she was alone and high.
and she had a table saw in her studio apartment.
and she placed her arms on the table
and sawed off her hands.
the neighbors heard her scream.
they called 911.
she sits on the streets now.
pastel. painter. photoshop.

Tell me this isn't a true story, because it really bummed me out.
Nice piece though.
it bummed me out too.
like requiem for a dream.
yeah.. it's a true story.
OH MY F#$King...Thats not what I wanted to wake up to this morning......homeless, hopless, and now handless... god.
The brush strokes really help give the painting its hard emotion. I would've like to see some sort of directional light. Maybe from above, creating a heavy shadow nose. Some transulant/ghostly hands would be cool too.

It's a TABLE SAW, all you have to do is drag it across it. Sad to hear, can't see the pic right now

Yeh, I sat there wondering how she would have done it, for about ten minutes, aswell.
Good hell! That is a horrifying story. This is why I hate reality. It's also why I think drug dealers should be publically exicuted....after hearing stories like that I don't consider that an overreaction.
As for the picture, it's good, but the thinness of the arms bothers me maybe if they were thicker, a little more realistic?
I don't really know what a table saw is [never saw one] but the story is really sad.
As for the painting itself:
I think the critics before are right, the arms are too thin and don't quite fit to the rest of her body. Maybe you can 'thin' her a bit
oh my! this story is almost making me cry... ive seen friends do horrible things...
(by the way, Harry, a table saw is just a saw attached to a table, for cutting wood in straight lines and angles...)
About the artwork, her face is really great, alot of emotion, but its a terrifying blank emotion, you do that pretty good in your artwork, but the body doesnt really match, her breast look way to big and heavy compared to her skeletal arms, i would imagine she has tiny dried up boob...
i got stuck on the skinny arm thing a couple months ago...
it's so wrong it just sort of works for me. right now anyway.
i started doing a lot of wigged out sketches like the one above.
thanks for the feedback.
@Steph: Thx for the description
I really like that last one. You can feel the dark mood spreading.
Seems to me that she is just about to jump off ...
Gawd what a depressing story.
As for art the hair seems to be like a slapped on wig not really growing out of here head but not really like an obvious wig either. That make sense?
this is truley one of them saddest stories ever, but the face looks great. Althought the lines on the arms are weird
so the arms really started to bother me. my girlfriend even said they sucked! lol.
and the hair/wig too. it was messin' with my mind.
thanks for all the awesome advise!
let me know if the update works.
