the holy trinity of art forums

for a long time it's always been sijun/eatpoo/conceptart, in no particular order. but i have been visiting sijun less and less i've noticed. i think it's finally time to say goodbye. with the trinity broken, what can fill the void? i love eatpoo and ca, but i always like to have at least 3 forums to browse. hmm...

I only browse CA for art. The only other forum that I like is on ArsTechnica.com.

NOTE: wetcanvas is down due to maintenence. For the moment....
    Wetcanvas!
This is by far, the biggest art forums on the net.
    35,000 members!!! (thats like Ca+poo+sijun)
There are lots of good, heated debates about art. And their "articles" section is VAST and very informative.

It's more fine art though and most of the members have no sense of humor....(tsk tsk)

Actually, Renderosity is the largest with over 100,000 members. However, with so many members... you get a pretty mixed bag when it comes to quality and talent level.

well, what to do without the holy trinity? ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US! is what to do after the holy triinty

its father, son and holy spirit.

sijun is kind of the father of the digital art forums - and is now only living because of its speed painting thread and craig mullins.

eatpoo was founded by sijun member roundeye, and therefore is the son. however, eatpoo used to be extreme loads of political uncorrectness but unfortunately began to suck when they made banning for no reason a sport.

leaves ca to be the holy spirit. and to be honest, who here did ever doubt that? if you were around in the earliest ca days, you could even feel when the whole forum had only a few hundred members and only being glued by the spirit of andrew and jason kept it running.

Don't turn this thread in a forum related flame war.

Chumps : here's an alternative. I noted that visiting forums was gobbling so much of my time away from painting. Make use of those gained hours to practice ! Those are my observations at least...

haha, good point. in the end 2 is good too. 3 is holy, but it takes 2 to tango, and in life there always seems to be the top 2 are always fighting it out. coke and pepsi, intel and amd, me and tom cruise....

    cheers

I have to agree here too boys, Sijun has been going downhill for nearly a year now. Eatpoo is more or less like the playground of an elementery school, alot of laughs and antics but nothing too serious.

CA is by far our home. Jason and Andrew have done a top notch job with the site and I have to say the general group here kicks ass.

The one thing I would love it not another art forum but a way we can netwok writers and other artists together to produce a much more rounded body of work.

    Just a thought
