    Topic:
    COW #333: Deep Sea Crawler

    Brief:
Expeditions in a newly discovered star system have found their way to an Earth-sized planet. Unlike Earth however it is completely covered in an ocean with nothing but a few peaks from underwater mountains that pierce the ocean's surface here and there. The vast oceans descend beyond the depth's of Earth's deepest chasms. Investigations of these deep ocean trenches have resulted in the discovery of several oceanic fauna, including a very large organism. This large creature does not have the ability to swim unlike most other aquatic organisms but instead it slowly crawls on the seafloor. Though it is very large it peacefully crawls along the seafloor feeding off of microbes. Your task is to design this newly discovered organism.

    Round Requirements:
-it is very large, about the size of a whale
-it cannot swim, it merely crawls on the ocean floor
    -it is a filter feeder

    Deadline:
Wednesday September 24, 11:59:59 PM EST (GMT -4)

This thread is the WIPs Thread, meant for uploading any wips, sketches, and ideas for your creature's concepts, as well as any crits, comments, reference images, and discussions relating to the topic! Please submit your final entries to the Finals Thread which can be found here, otherwise your entry will not be included into the poll:

Great start everyone. Here's my take. This creature has two large branched tentacles full of glowing thingies to attract all sort of krill and little creatures that it then sucks up with its giant mouth.

Sketch. Cinc (that's his name) uses large water sacs on the sides of its head to inhale anything within 100 yards of its mouth, including that little person standing next to him.

@ scorge: you're killing it! awesome work man

@ xionix: nice design, there's good potential for weathering or maybe other life forms settling on the creatures "face"

    hey, cool ideas here

Coolbrain: I really like the dark colors and how the creature looks up to the divers, but I guess a bit more light and contrast of value in the face area would add more of a focalpoint to it.

Stephou: it looks so interesting and I like the mood of it but I find it a bit difficult to recognize the mainshape of the creature yet.

    my progress so far
