Hi! My name is kevin, currently a university student in New York. I’ll be using this sketchbook to track my progress, and I will be grateful for any feedback!
In the last two years I copied a lot from anatomy books. I felt great until I realized I wasn’t improving. Then I didn’t feel too good. I wasn’t thinking. I wasn’t getting out of my comfort zone. I’ll try to do both as much as possible in this sketchbook.
Today: some drawings from imagination
Thanks from stopping by!
More drawings from imagination, knights from reference.
From this week: loomis heads, drawings of a little two inch bust, and drawings from imagination.
trying to grasp the structure of the head!
Excellent work !! I love your lines and your shadows.
Damn. Your lines are nice on the last image on the left. You have a lot of great stuff going for you. When you do line it's really cool and your shadows are sweet too. Just keep drawing you already have a great base.
fefe93, thank you! been trying to shade more because I'm over-reliant on lines
LostTemple, thanks for the kind words!
This week: some hip/legs from pictures, some imagination.
Trying to get started with color, I've been scared of it for a long time----apple study inspired by bumskee, and a lincoln bust.
struggle a lot with painting the colors as they are, I think I'm going to have to do more still lifes.
Carro, thank you! I know the feeling. Something that helped me a little bit was forcing myself to draw bodies for my heads, no matter how bad they were. Forces you to think of ideas!
today, a star wars study and a painting from imagination, trying to apply what I learned. kind of fun, I'll do more of these.
That's a good advice, I sometimes do that but I don't push myself enough. I will totally focus on drawing bodies next time!
Awesome paintings. It's great that you do something totally different with your own painting, doing your own characters, poses and adding new colours. In that way you will see what you have learned.
