Thread: Raz's SB
August 12th, 2014 #1
Hey there, I'm a long time lurker and fan of CA. Always wanted to start a SB here but never got the chance so I'm looking to change that! :)

Quick black armor study from today, done in preparation for an upcoming personal piece that's going to feature black armor. I will probably be doing more of these in the next few days.
For now, just focusing on major forms and trying not to get too invested in detail.

ujjalloh - Thank you very much
Another armor study from this evening. I think I'm seeing some improvement but oh man... rendering is hard D:

It's almost there, you seem to be on the right track.

ujjalloh - Thank you again for the kind comments.. Much appreciated.
Had some trouble focusing today. I think it shows in my drawings. I attempted to do another armor study and some gestures... neither of which turned out particularly well. Overall not a good day for me, lol.

Hey Razmaz and cool that you found time to open up a SB !
I like your faces from the first post, trying to get them down as well and it's not so easy so yeah good stuff! your anatomy skills look pretty solid, too so I can't wait for more uploads

You've got this elegant simplicity going on with some of your work that is absolutely exquisite, and then I look at your armor studies and see that you sort of...seem to give it up somewhere. You should focus on keeping that simplicity in the brushstrokes/rendering with any subject matter. Try to slow down a little bit while making them, and see if that helps.
The only reason I'm saying any of this is that it would be a shame for you to let that very valuable aspect of your work go unrefined, and unused.
