Hi guys, this will be my first post on ConceptArt.org and I hope it is the first of many!

    Quick background:

I'm 24 and an amateur artist looking to make a career for myself. I'm currently studying on the Artist & Animator course as part of Train2Game and am designing some t-shirts for an upcoming online clothing company.

I've been using Photoshop since April this year and am (thankfully) still learning new things about it pretty much every day.

Any critiques that anyone could offer would be invaluable to me, as it's difficult to notice any significant progression with my work! I'll put two up on here, and the rest on the Sketchbooks forum. Many thanks in advance.

    JB.

A concept piece influenced by Outlaw Star (sorry for the watermark - I can re-upload without it if it's a problem).

Your going to have to be more specific on what you want from a critique as concept art, illustration and animation are very different fields. What is it you want to do?

Also there seems to be a bug on your profile so I cant look at your sketchbook, gunna need a direct link.

Sorry, kind of new to this.

Basically the main critiques I'm looking for is in technique. My ultimate ambition is to be able to paint like a Feng Zhu. I'd love to be able to do landscape paintings, which I'm slowly starting to learn - in the meantime, I could do with pointers regarding perspective, composition and general techniques with Photoshop.

    Go here: http://www.ctrlpaint.com/library/

Watch all the videos about things you want to learn.
Start a sketchbook on here if you haven't already.
Practice the things from the videos.

Do that for a while and we'll take it from there. .
