Sketchbook - Not gonna lie, im a lil' bit nervous...

I want to get a better grip on concepts like anatomy, perspective and shading.
I really appreciate criticisms and feedback. So dont hold back at all. Thanks.

Anyways here's a small background on me im 17 and I've been drawing ever since I could hold a pencil, I'm trying to stave off stagnation and grow my skills. My biggest problem currently, I think is color and some forms of proportion and perspective as well as messy lines. So thats the short of it, now i'll get back to scribbling.

Edit: Time for a thumbnail change.

Another Edit March 2017:I love to draw, and I have love for animation but I find animation intimidating, so for years I've stuck to just drawing. I want to change that and start branching out towards new mediums while I work on my own improvement. Once I get a hold of some time I'll start experimenting with making GIFs (soon...). My dream job would be to work in an Animation studio, or as a Character Artist for a game studio. Initially I didn't know what I wanted to do in the art field so I didn't have any goals only things that inspired me, I'm currently studying Illustration, However, my inspirations are all over the place. As a small kid I was exposed to animation like Pixar movies (The Incredibles, Toy Story etc.) Cartoons (Justice League Unlimited, Dexter's Lab, Samurai Jack and The Last Airbender) and some classic anime (Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell etc), and comic book artists ranging from Jim Lee and Joe Mad, to Adam Hughes. However in my early teens I discovered Frank Frazetta I was stunned, I wanted to be like him. And then somewhere along the line I lost my way, but I'm back and I want to draw.

I'm now 19 and I don't feel like I improved, because of not practicing, don't be like me. Sit down and draw.

May 2017: Changed the sticky image thingy thing

nice head sketches, for anatomy an advice that i can give you is drawing from reference a lot, do tons of shoulders, legs (muscle, bones, etc)and you will find an improvement.

Create consistently and you'll improve in no time. Study the basics and absorb every bit of info you find on the fundamentals, oh and have fun while doing it

I look forward to seeing you grow as an artist.

Your poses are looking a lot better! keep doing the Quickposes exercises they'll help you grasp proportions, then specific studies of the anatomy of the limbs will help you when working from imagination. To get better at drawing heads I'd suggest studying the planes (maybe take a look at Loomis's books)

I need to do some colored pieces, but im worried that I'd just mess them up. What is a good medium for me transition to color?

This is some good stuff, and your latest drawings show improvement. Keep practicing, man!

If you still need the how-to on how to scale pics down, I use MS Paint to crop and resize my pics.

And the eyes: Manga and comic book eye tuts could help a lot.
