I'm assuming that this is as open ended as it sounds..?
Here's my starter WIP, the idea being thus :
The (Butler's) Chamber:
The fork was halfway to his mouth when Nigel heard the littlest bell chime gently above him. Sighing, he slipped his feet back into his faded work shoes and straightened his tie. Dinner would have to wait, the young master needed him.
Damn. Colour is hard.
I read Wikipedia meaning of chamber and i'm a bit confused as to what exactly is a chamber
is it any kind of room ? or does the topic refer to the movie\novel "the chamber" ?
Grotski : great start and story!
Sadly I wont have the time to finish as I'm heading away for the weekend. Will do / plan better next time!
Damn. Colour is hard.
Not sure I'll get time to do this (again) but wanted to share my idea... This + monster in shadows and group of swimmers near the waterfall... not sure it's a "chamber" enough anyway.
This one is really opening it up! I like the small intimate rooms, and the rocky chambers. I found the first thing that came to mind was Angel Carter's 'The Bloody Chamber', rewriting of Bluebeard, so I'm going to try something vaguely Bluebeardy I think. The new bride coming upon the chamber where BB has stored his previous wives .. very scrappy first wip here.
Some thumbnails I did. I sketched a couple of ideas out, then did some basic sketches on photoshop and painted over them. I like to use just black and white in my thumbnails so im not thinking about values or colour, just composition and lighting.

Trying to get a structure ..
Thanks for clarifying that Vulgar & Grotski
pushing on .. column on the right seems wrong ..
Greyscale is finished I think. There is some cool stuff going on here
@Ananda C: The room has got an old feel to it, the wallpaper helps and the cluttered dark furniture. I like the light from the window as well, it contrasts the stuffiness of the rest of the room
Hey all this is my final for this round , those little details takes time i wanted to add a lot more! , no time
Nice work guys.
