Thread: Painting textures
July 18th, 2014 #1
I was curious if anyone could point me in the right direction in terms of painting textures such as metal, wood, etc. I seem to be painting everything in a matte finish.

-Gather a few nice images of the texture you are looking for and try to re-create them!
-Watch livestreams on youtube and other sites of people painting similar materials, you can learn some great techniques that way (example: http://www.deviantart.com/art/painti...ideo-370481121)
- I am sure a quick google search can yield some nice step-by-step tutorials to set you on the right path
Good luck : )

No problem; that site will be a life saver when artist's block comes along.
