    anyone work for VALVe?

well, I plan to work for valve some day when i finally get out the hell of school. i'm planning on being a 3D artist for valve and make some really sweet models for the next great games. so in order to learn more about valve and what they need to become a better game developer. i need to meet someone from valve or some people who know people at valve. so don't be shy..share your experience or what you know.

I hang out with people from Valve on a weekly basis.

I can't reveal thier secret identity...mostly I just wanted to say neener neener.

I self-published a book on the fundamentals of drawing from life.

Why are you obsessed with only Valve? There are many companies in that industy. Your obsession with their company is a little disturbing.

I can understand, having played a lot of VALVe's pc games.
One of their first games, 'Half Life' brought a revolutionary change in first person shooter games. Now they're a very respected company.

    Hey,

After playing Half-Life 2 and seeing the amazing amount of beautiful detail in that game, I too would like to someday work for them.

Then again, if they're a bunch of elitist ass-holes, maybe not.

seriously, why can't you reveal the identities of people who work for VALVE?

I know sometimes you cant publicly post conceptual art for unreleased games

    Denart,

Friend - "Hey man I hope you don't mind but I let everyone know on ca.org
who you were and that you work for valve."

ValveGuy - "WTF is wrong with you, now I am going to have every gamer and
his friend from the site asking me about this, asking me about
that or better yet "Hey man can I like hang at the studio for
a couple of hours. Or, oooh oooh do you have any jobs
    available???"

Alot of the vets on the site are professionals but come to the forum under alias's to avoid a list of pm's and emails.

They're kinda like uber cool super heros around here.

Work on your art, worry about connections later.

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed, The world in arms is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from an iron cross."

Don't anger this young man, when he's angry he has lots of adrenaline, like the Hulk.

muffinman do you have any examples of 'some really sweet models ' ? Maybe if you show some valves secret agents will be more interested...

no, not really most of my models are incomplete human beings i end up putting in UT2004 just for the amusement of it...

since some of you mentioned "skillz", infact i do have skillz. i just need to sharpen them a little.

Muffinman, if you really want to work for Valve, practice your craft and get good at it, remember your not the only one trying to break into the game company many people are also trying and you better have something that stands out or you'll be left in the dust. Start posting some of your 3d stuff and maybe you'll get notice, just cause you said you have skillz doesn't mean making a 3d model of an incomplete model taking you whatever hours while your learning at the same time. You gotta know what your doing and do it proficiently. Now leave the Valve people alone for now and go take care of your "skillz".
