    Harsh Critique Needed.

    Hello everyone!

17/05/17 Update: It's been almost 3 years now and I need to thank everyone who has helped me along the way and still continue to do so. I also just want to say sorry if I come across as very negative or depressing in my posts, I'm hyper critical of myself and my work.

So I've drawn my whole life, I remember art being my favorite lesson in school when I was as young as 6, I was often praised for my drawings more than anything so I quickly decided I was going to be an artist when I grew up (foolish I know). For the past 10 years I've been more serious about learning but with no art schools or money I have to rely on self teaching. The journey has been very slow and I've gotten a bit more depressed over recent years because it just feels like I'm not getting anywhere or I'm never going to be near the level I want. I've wanted to give up a few times now but for whatever reason something inside me won't allow it.

My goals are somewhat vague but I know I like manga, It's the thing that really made me want to draw for serious but I still value the ability to draw realistically from life. I guess what I'm trying to say is I want be able to draw realistically and use that ability to create nice manga.

Those are some great studies. I like how because you struggled with the bottle, you made yourself draw it again twenty times from different angles. That type of attitude is going to get you far! You already have a pretty good foundation and you're only going to get better.
Check out my sketchbook! Socially acceptable opportunity to yell at a teenage girl!

One more hand for tonight. It still looks kinda 'flat' and i don't know how to fix it. Gonna have to draw more hands tomorrow i guess

I used a lamp in order to get a better sense of light and shadow for this value study:

I love your perspective studies! To be truthful I am only about to start learning them myself, so I'm sorry that I am not able to give more constructive comments. But as far as I can see you are doing very well with them! I especially love the little room sketch, I wish I am able to do such nice clean lines

I wish you luck with your endeavour!
