I'm trying to paint a Cityscape for a comic project of mine. I need practice for sure, but I am looking for any advice, or tips anyone can offer to help me understand the process of making something like this. It's my very first time attempting something of this subject and of this magnitude, and any help that can be offered would be extremely appreciated.
Work on the composition, values, lights and shadows. Basically you can't even tell where the light source is.
Any tips on how to go about doing that? Are there any guides I could look up that would point me in the right direction of understanding this concept? cause I'm at a total loss. Mind you, I am nto looking for shortcuts, Im perfectly willing to do all the work and practice needed, but I would fare better if I knew what direction to take my practice for something like this.
Feng Zhu's videos are a really entertaining "display" of these things, and cover them superficially
but to learn them?
Lots and lots of studies I think.. still lifes, drawing from color photos and converting to values, works too
If you can draw from life do that.
eg, DRAW EGGS, eggs are nothing to fuck with.
draw eggs? sounds like a plan. I'll draw a bunch of them then. thanks for the tips.
