Hi everyone. This is my thirst study.

I spent about 1 hrs on this.
I like the atmosphere of the picture.
I like the rhythm, of paintings and chairs on the background and checkerboard floor.
Beautiful contrast - dark clothes and bright faces.

    Sorry for my awful English.

These are excellent. You are off to a great start and it is going to be interesting to see where this thread goes. Great choices of paintings too.

with that said, keep pushing for more accurate edge work and surface. The atmosphere will improve if so. You are getting 99 percent there though and are on track for where I hope to see people reaching with these studies. Just keep pushing for more and more accuracy in shapes, values and edges (and surface).

Excellent job on the analysis too. The diagrams are helpful to seeing what you are noticing. Thanks.

    Keep up the great work.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try. But, more accurate edge work and surface is complicated because resolution too small. But as i said, i'll try. Thank you again

High contrast, pillow and newspaper on the table, has counterpoised at newspaper and plications on the knees.
Triangle with bright corners (pillow and two newspapers). Glass and book for more variety in foreground.

I think. Window, and man on the left, needed for balance. Without them, right part of the painting will be too heavy.
That is what happens if they be deleted.

These are getting progressively better with each one. Very good work.

You are getting about 90 percent there with the three most important things...shapes, values and edges. are you flipping your images horizontally and vertically every minute or so to check accuracy? Beware going too dark or too light or giving too much contrast. You are getting very very close with your value work in particular, and yet there is still room for even more accuracy. You paint well, so your process is good and installing quality control passes will help raise that bar even higher.

Make a pass at the half way point and at the end where you double check the following, in this order.

    a. shapes.
    b. values
    c. edges

At this point all I think that is needed is double checking things at the end in a quality control pass...so to speak.

    Fabulous job so far.

This painting awesome! This painting like yin-yang. Two figures with opposite value, and on each of this figures have little bit of neighbor value. Left shall have dark hat and dark stick. And the right shall have light hand and bright shirt.

Fabulous work. Keep working on getting your edges more accurate and capture the full range of sharp to soft. Aside from that i think you are on the right track. Nice use of texture too.

These are excellent studies and the analysis is also strong and i am especially happy to see. Great work.

Moving forward lets put a good hard focus on your edges...watch for the full range of sharp to soft. Note the sharpest sharps and softest softs early so that you can gauge the others more easily along the way. Be sure your shapes are mapped in as accurately as possible prior to doing so though no sense in repainting.

Keep up the great work. Watch those edges!!!
