Help me make my portfolio website :)
Hello, y'all beautiful people!
I am designing and coding my website I will be using as a portfolio and a homepage. Can't show it yet, though.
Let's say you are a potential client viewing my soon-to-be web or just a cool guy passing by. What do you want to see the most, what not? What should be definitely included and what can be left out? What would catch your attention instantly and what would make you leave the page as soon as possible? What features should it have, which not?
I have a fairly clear idea and want to keep the site as simple and clean as possible, yet still looking nice, sleek and modern. Hearing some thoughts about designing a portfolio would be great.
Just dump some ideas here. Or not, that's OK too

Well for art portfolio I like simple websites, where I don't have to click a bunch of links to get to the artwork...

Well, I'm the cool guy, but if I were a potential client looking for an artist to do X in style Y, I want to see professional quality X in style Y, and I don't want to waste my time looking for it.

what eezacque said + easy to find the e-mail address of the artist. Not more than one obvious click to get it.
