Characters drawn as practice for con season. Both are charcoal, pencils, white charcoal, and gel pen. The half-body shot is on toned structured paper, the other on drawing carton. I have drawn only in sketchbooks for years because all my finished work is done digitally, and struggled at first to get along with new papers, but I'm getting the hang of it.

There I sat sketching away among friends, and when I looked I had drawn a samurai and a cowboy. I had to laugh, because such iconic characters aren't what I usually draw. They are cool though.
    Watercolour pencils and graphite.

Acrylics sketches on book pages, inspired by those shown by Vanessa Lemen at muddycolors.blogspot.com. Still working on found poetry - it reads "die Revolution wδre ausgerufen" (the revolution would be declared) in the handshake painting; "die Gestalt war Kφnig von Malern" (the figure was king of painters) in the black and white one; and "insbesondere Festungen und Burgen, Marmor eroberte Wolken und Epochen" (especially forts and castles, marble conquered clouds and epochs) - where I missed one word that was covered by too much frisket and paint.
Pages are taken from an architectural book, approx. 32Χ25cm.

Various sketches and drawings done to get to grips with new papers. The lightning-gnome fencer is from a story by me and my fiancι; the guy with the cyberarms is a character of his; the girl on the swing commemorates the 30th anniversary of the Tchernobyl accident; and the women with owls or antlers are fun.

Drawings with ink pens and Copic markers on photo paper samples, the kind you get with printers. I'm drawing a lot of harpies and antlered people lately.

Darker drawings that came out doodling away with graphite and charcoal; a sort of wendigo, and an interpretation of the wickerman, an alleged Norse sacrificial practice of stuffing a wooden figure with POWs and setting it on fire.

More practice drawings. I can't remember when I last drew in front of an audience to specifications by other people. It's not as bad as one would think, but still scary to be decaffeinated and feeling the pressure of having to be creative

I've been busy with a game about angels, and these seemed natural to draw. Ink pens, copic markers, and acrylic gold paint on photo paper, 10Χ15cm.

Hi! Just went through your sketchbook and I really admire how much you experiment with all kinds of different media.

Also love your landscapes, particularly the ones in post #5 and #46

    Looking forward for more!

More book-marks. The scribbly ones are actually seeing service now, but the three with animals we liked too much to put into the meager trade of being a book-mark, and kept them safe.

Copic marker faces from memory, trying to emulate the style of Marcos Matheu-Mestre. Not there yet, and trying to figure out if it's the size (page is A5), lack of skill (obviously), or medium (digital or traditional).
