Its' free and it takes less than 10 seconds!
I'm currently a hobbyist in drawing. My drawing is OK but I like to learn more about character design. I believe in order to grow, it's important to have some great names to look up to. Can anybody help by sharing some references of famous artists in the industry? (You can even mention your name too!)
I'm looking for artists reference who can draw characters well especially in terms of race and culture.
Any reply will be greatly appreciated!
How about you rather find characters you really like visually from your favorite whatevers, and try to find out who was the concept artist for those? It's easier to look up to those who you actually have some personal connection to. There's art books for almost every recent major movie, game and animation and Google will be your help.
Look at them! They're all around you! http://www.conceptart.org/forums/for...41-Sketchbooks

Oh yeah. There's more. Starting to remember.
Andrew Probert (the guy who designed for the Star Trek franchise and even for one Star Wars movie)
Makoto Shinkai (famous for the movies: 5 Centimeters Per Second and Garden of Words)
You have Robb Waters who chara-designed Bioshock & Infinite, great drawer, less great painter, but has an amazing design/creative mind. Kenneth Scott for RAGE and Halo 4, Isaac Hannaford, Jaime Jones for Bungie, Hyoung Taek Nam for Naughty Dog, Martin Deschambault, Vincent Gaigneux for Ubisoft and many more; check out ConceptArtWorld.com a great site to find the concept arts of a game or movie
