The first few look absolutely great, excpet I think the proportions are a little off.
    ...
    ha..
    Sorry.

They really do look great. I can tell John Travolta...That freaky guy from Rat Race..Who are the others?
The realistic ones look great too.
That 3D animation thing rocks! Are those all the things you've done? I saw maybe 3 or 4 commercials I recognized. That tennis stuff was really interesting too. I can't say I'm too found of the "steal" animation. I think it is incomplete (or an idea that was never finished? ). The movement of the character just seems odd, and it doesn't appeal to me.
    All the stuff looks great!

    Great character animations!
I also recognized Travolta, Jet Lee and Mr. Bean
    You caught well characters!
I had a look at your sites and at me it also seems little unfinished
or undetailed but cartoons and drawings are really great!

    Red face

    Hi mos667 and Deco,

Thankyou so much for your comments! Really appreciate you guys for taking time to point out the stuffs that I need to improve on.

The "steal" animation is indeed unfinished, in terms of its final look. Its mainly a test on realistic character animation. Hopefully when i have more time in the future, i will model, texture and light it properly again. If you guys find the movement of the character weird, I will try to work on it again. Hopefully I can post a improved version on my site soon.

Those stuffs on my showreel are scenes that I have done. I came from a post house with a pretty small 3d team. 4 3d artists in fact. Thus we have to be responsible for everything, from modelling to texturing, animation, effects and even compositing sometimes. Most of the time, it was only one to two artists per project. If its a big one, all the 4 will be pulled in to do it. Glad that you guys enjoyed my reel.

As for Deco, I couldn't agree with you more that my site look unfinished. You had been kind with your words already haha. It was meant to be a very simple site for a start, my very first website in fact. Was put up only on last Sat. Hope that when my design skills improved, I can put up a more professional looking one in future.

Thankyou guys for your comments once again! Will work hard on my drawings!

    structure

The work is good, but in your more realistic pics, they tend to flatten out because too much emphasis is placed on the surface detail, without having built the structure first. You have to have a skull before you can have eyes. Try to work from the general to the specific, this also allows for a pic to look finished, even if it's not. Also practice depth of line. If a line remains the same thickness throughout, it will flatten the image. (Hanna-Barbara look). The rough sketches of Leonardo and Michaelangelo are excellent places to see how someone can create a 3d feel with just a line and no shading. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Lurchus for your valuable comment! I would love to try out what you have suggested on my next portrait. Will try to find out more on that technique too.

Hahaha...thanks for your compliment, Corvus. The word "ugly" is actually referring to the Superman that I drew. Its actually the general comment I got from female friends when they saw him. The exact word was "disgusting" in fact! haha

But I like my super heroes to look that way. Not all great people have to be beautiful at the same time right? I think a superhero with a paunch, hairy chest, afro hairstyle, thick gold chain and an attitude has his own charm as well.

    Anyone agree with me?
