Ceremonial Masks of the Healer Priests
    Deadline: Sunday, June 9

The healer priests are a mysterious yet vital part of the city. Children are chosen at a young age to be trained, at which point they are not seen for several years as they are educated in the walled commune at the edge of the city. Once part of the healer priest ranks their faces are not seen by civilians and instead masks are worn, different designs identifying specialties and rank from apprentice to master.

Your task is to show three of these masks, each belonging to a different healer priest, yet still obviously belonging together.

    Brief:
    1. Design and draw the Ceremonial Masks of the Healer Priests.
    2. That's it... now draw!

I assume when you say ceremonial that the masks are purely decorative, and don't have any technical / practical use beyond perhaps the spiritual?
Under the banner of industrial design it makes me think of them having mechanical parts that might help with surgery, or were you aiming for more low tech witch doctor masks?

They should obscure the identity of the wearer, provide some sort of spiritual connection, and provide societal rank. You may add whatever other functions you wish in addition, or not.

Had a quick sketch, went with healing/nature angle.
The mask itself is a platform to grow valuable herbs and leaves to aid in the healing process.

    Some mask designs.

The Anisaru go through different forms of dances for each ritual they perform. Each masks represents a different rank, going from least ornate to most ornate.

The Faith does the dance of faith to bring the person in touch with the spirit world.

The Banisher does the dance of binding and banishing to remove any evil spirit from the afflicted person.

The Restorer does the final ritual of healing that will bring and end to the malady.

I wanted each mask to be designated into the western societies three social classes: lower, middle and upper class.

First one is the Tomich'ng Priest who only caters to the poor. The Tomich'ng Priest has the ability to grow plants on its mask which he can then use to make herbal medicine.

Had some time so I figured I'd finish it on out. Probably won't have time to touch it again so this is my final.

The Anisaru like many primitive peoples believe in the ongoing interplay between man, the gods, and evil spirits. Many of these spirits afflict man in the guise of sickness, so the gods gave the Anisaru masks to wear. Each of the masks represents a different ritual to perform to heal the sick and dying.

The Faith does the dance of faith to bring the person in touch with the spirit world.

The Banisher does the dance of binding and banishing to remove any evil spirit from the afflicted person.

The Restorer does the final ritual of healing that will bring and end to the malady.

The blue masked priest(ive yet to name this) has the ability to see through human skin and diagnose any illnesses. Any priest who wears the blue marble mask is granted this power.

The gold mask priest has the power to transfer temporary instant healing abilities to its patient. Also has the full knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of any living being which makes him the perfect surgeon.
