Indian ink problem
I have a lot of indian ink and I want to make bottles of different shades of grey. When I try mixing water with the ink I get these little crumbs (black dots) in it when applying it on paper. Is this caused by the ink or the water? How do I get rid of them?
I know it doesn't necessarily show when making strokes but still I'd like to know if it's possible.

Or, how old or cheap is the ink? I used to get them especially with ink that had sat a while, so all little dry bits has been mixed in the ink bottle.

Yeah I think that's the problem.. I was always too intimidated by that stuff so it just stood there for a few years. There are no "happy little accidents" with Indian ink!
