Hi guys, longtime lurker here. Thought I'd start a sketchbook to overcome my artistic inertia.
These first few are kind of old btw...

I signed the first two because I submitted them for a portfolio... I usually don't sign my stuff...
I've liked playing with this character's design (particularly the boots), so I've had a tendency to draw her differently over the course of time. It's Kiva from Megas XLR if anyone's curious...

This stuff is more recent...
I have a thing for faces and eyes. I usually draw half the face, scan it, and then copy + flip + paste it in MS paint...

Thank youI am, I like J Scott Campbell in particular
J Scott Campbell is great but his female faces look all the same to me.I like Joe Mad a lot.

I kind of agree regarding the female faces thing... I think that he has a type tbh... I think that I'm mostly attracted to his style because it seems kind of unique in the comic industry and I just find it attractive for some reason... I also really, really like Adam Hughes... I'm still trying to develop my own style that I'm satisfied with though, without becoming either Campbell or Hughes...
I've seen Joe Mad's stuff. His pencils are really tight. He reminds me of Carlos Gomez on deviantart (who might be inspired by him?). Carlos says that he uses a light box technique which I find is really helpful (in fact I have used it myself in the past). I think a lot of comic artists do though...
Really clean line work. Hope to see more.![]()

Great stuff IioiI, really clean lines like M Feather said. I really dig the animals you are doing, more so that the people evenThe unicorn with the deer/greyhound like frame in post #5 is really interesting to me.
Prismacolour Sorceress looks great too.
