Welcome~! Amazing stuff you've got here. I'm really loving the Thom Yorke "Lotus Flower" drawings. Dancing with that man is on my bucket list.

    Looking forward to more.

    hi

    Nice start

Are you aiming to draw figure from mind ?

Even if you want always draw from model, some structure , proportions knowledge will always have benefits.

Also be sure to check and recheck proportions.
The last one 's hair seems a bit small (the overall mass)

Oh, i see now, thanks for advice!

Yeah, i have problem with drawing from mind, that's why i'm practicing studies from photos. I'll pay more attention to proportions next time! Thanks.

Ah if you wanna get better at drawing from mind, practice drawing from mind more than studying photos! For me studying photos well... compliments my imagination stuff rather than over taking it. I think it improves things like proportions and form but if your'e studying just photos its not forcing you to think of the other photos you've studied and the form you got from them.

I don't know if it's ok to upload this kind of works here, cause it's not a sketch, but anyway, here's my last piece - it's just personal illustration.
I'm trying to push myself out of my comfort zone,
Comment and critiques are very welcome =)

Very nice work so far. Yes it's okay to post colored illustrations in here btw

One thing I will say about the mermaid is that it seems to lake as much depth because the whole figure is very detailed. I can see where the fin/tail area is less developed so I'd say really push that contrast.

    See my Sketchbook!!!!!!!!

    And my blog

Thanks for comment, Disciplette! I thought to keep focal point on the face (and sword may be), that's why I decided not to give so many details on the tail, but maybe I should..

    Hi Aya-kun,

Your pencil work is really impressive, then I saw your digital mermaid piece and its just as impressive. If you want to get out of your comfort zone I think your going to have to push a little harder

Also its always nice to see another Radiohead fan (I assume you are anyway).

Thanks for visiting my sketchbook and keep it up, need to see more.

    Radiohead rules =)

    Thanks for comment.

Most of my personal illustrations made with contour, so in this piece I tried to avoid it as much as I can, next one would be better!

    I like the expressions here
I undestand you noticed my lack of expression in the last heads

Mermaid is nice too (and of course you can post anything in your own sb)
but personally, i would not do such crisp edges all over her. The tail part could be less crisp, since it's farther from the viewer.

Great sketches, especially like your figure drawings. With the mermaid, I am far from being an expert but I think adding more water details like light reflections some small plants or little animals could bring this painting alive Great job overall thou, can't wait to see more

Wow your sketchbook is cool! You sure have some talent. The mermaid is nice. May I ask you a question? When you draw the mermaid in digital, are you starting with black and white first or you just go all the way with picking color?

Can be seen carrying sketchbook around nearby bus station.

I'm so embarrassed, cause I just made it for fun and I don't have strict algorithm yet.. Sometimes I start with color, sometimes with lines and sometimes with black and white..

    Did I answered your question?

Yes you did! No worries, I too have no strict algorithm yet, I'm still in learning process so i'm trying out this and that to see which one suit me well
