Entertainment Industry | Interviews & Jobs

    Hello!

I was wondering if I could get some advice in regards to landing work in the Entertainment industry. My previous experiences include Nickelodeon Animation Studios and a small AD Agency. I was laid off from my last job 5 months ago and havent had a job since. I'm constantly interviewing ( 25-30 interviews and companies since layoff ) and taking art tests but getting no where. Could anyone help me out with getting more experience or what to do next? I feel like I'm at a dead end in my career

Jobs now a days are all about networking. Reconnect with your old workmates and anyone else in the industry you know. Attend functions where you can run into people in the industry. Look for recruiters that you can meet with near you.

Yea, what Dpaint said is true, attend conventions, try to make more contacts, but more importantly, i think would be improving your skills. The professional standard is ever rising, and if you are not getting any jobs, i think you need to get back to work on improving your skills, revisit fundamentals, tackle whatever it is you are weak at. Take your work to a much huger level and apply again. But don't skim on making those industry connections.

-We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.

-Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon 'em.
