Yay! Shapes can be quite fun. Thank you, they're supposed to be "wings of freedom".

I really love progression gifs. It's fun to see how shitty/good the first sketch is and what you managed to make out of it. Like, he first sketch of the middle one is so damn terrible it just makes me laugh whenever I see it.

Yep! I joined about 2 years ago, but I completely forgot about the place and had a long break from drawing. But earlier today the name suddenly popped up in my head and so I checked it out! I think conceptart has become better since last I was here, so I'm giving it a second try.

Hey cool stuff in here. I always liked the "illustrative style" and I try to practice that as well.
I especially like where the linework ends infavor of light on your Rose piece.
    Keep on doing cool stuff

Some quick still life, because I never do still life. Random items on my desk. On the cup it reads "Masekopp" directly translated meaning nagging cup, which is a normal thing to call people who nag in Norway. Which is funny because it's written on a cup. It was a gift from me to my mother.

Aw thank you so much for kind words. I'm glad you think so! Rose is the piece Im proudest of so far.
I think your style is very cool, especially your lineart.

A little silly spooky thing and certainly not finished. If you're sensitive for flashing lights, don't watch because.. yeah it contains flashing lights.

Will you let the oracle read you?

thats pretty cool ^^ what if you drew the skull completely and let it shine through the flicking light, that would be cool xD even though u did a portion of it, but not the complete thing ^^

the cup is the best one rendered and has the best use of strokes even the colour is really good

what about drawing what its resting on, to see the shadows and reflected light etc

Haha, well I am! And now I see that you are too, so uhm.. hei! Would you prefer english or norwegian? And well, to justify the oracle - we all experience some pain in our lives. And in the end, everyone dies. So she's kinda right!

Yeah that is a good idea! On my next still life I'll do that. That's an excellent suggestion that I didn't even think about. The cup is also the one I used the longest time on. But thanks!

Yeah I'm going to make it as spooky as possible. And that's a good suggestion! thank you for commenting.

Nice, studies! Keep doing these, but use hard, round, opaque brushes to get a crispier look...

Today's study: trying to paint a picture without having it underneath (lol). My first try - ever! Saw a picture of Josh Hutcherson and thought it would be a good place to start. I first worked on one for 30 minutes or maybe more (I forgot to take the time. it's probably more) but I wasn't satisfied, so I dropped it and started on the 10 minutes one. Neither are good, or not as good as I want it to be, so here I got something I need to practice more with.

hmmm, the 10 min, looks actually better, only if it had lighter highlights, but very great practice, and you should def. do more of it, setting ur self time limit is very helpful

Yeah, I drew the 30 min one first, and when placing them over eachother, the 30 min one had better placement of the nose and the eyes, but the 10 minutes one has a better overall shape of the hair, jaw and shoulders. Also it looks better, as you said. I'll definitely do this more often. Thank you for your comment!
