    Hamid's Journey in a Sketchbook (anime-master-96)

Hello everyone, thanks for tuning in my sketchbook. My name is Hamid and I'm 18 (date of this edit 17 july 2014)
I've been drawing serious and everyday since 27 April 2013. I started with just anime and then I thought I should do more realism, which then made me decide to study the human anatomy and face proportions from realism first. I'd appreciate any critique and suggestions on the work I'll be posting here, and you know what, go ahead and tear them apart, I'm here to improve ^w^

Also be sure to check out my deviantART: http://anime-master-96.deviantart.com/
    and my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/MRAnimeMaster96

That's all for now ^w^ lets see how this will go ^w^

I did quite a lot of drawings and sketches for the past few days. I did some detailed ones, and then did some high contrast ones, and then at the end some life drawings in the park yesterday ^^

before doing any proper drawing studies i just want to finish off this sketchbook, I have around 30 sheets left, and then I want to study the human anatomy, but we'll see ^^

SO its nearly the end of my current sketchbook, so I thought I'd do some quick poses practices. Started of with my usual gel pen, then did some ink and brush poses drawings. I realized how much more i need to practice. maybe I need to do more before I do the anatomy study...

and btw I did those figure drawings without sketching it out, is that a good thing or a bad thing?...

    I need some advice..

and are the pictures im uploading too big?

    1000 figure/gesture sketches Challenge starts 16/04/2014

I really liked the idea of doing poses without sketching with ink and brush, so this is what Im gonna do:

I will be challenging my self to do 1000 poses, this way.

i decided to do 10 2 min figure/gesture sketches from reference, then 2 5 min figure/gesture sketches from reference, then 2 2 min figure/gesture sketches from imagination.
i did each pose on an a5 paper, (a4 actually, but two on each)

    so here they are.

I realised how much i need to practice, but i feel this is def. gona be worth it!!
i've done 40 more, will upload them soon, im already feeling that im getting bettwe at it. wonder how no. 1000 will look like ^^

    back to drawing.....

I really like your style! I think all you need is more practice and keep challenging yourself and then your art will look professional. Keep it up!

All the references ones are very good Also the sitting man from imagination was good as well! Will be interesting to see your progress as you get the hang of it.

haha ^^ thx alot ^^ , yeah, i love using that thing, you can see it from my earlier posts on this thread, but i do feel i have observed the human form more after doing 90 figure drawings, it isnt much really, compared to how much the masters have done, but it really helps make you pay more attention to the form, so amazingly useful!! 900 left xD

Wow! I love the loose pen sketches, and how it shows your confidence with every stroke. You have a good style on doing portraits too. Keep going!

    Imperfections make it perfect.

thx alot Ankaa, the confinence part is important, and you can build that with drawing with pen without sketching with pencil, it forces you too look ahead and visualize the drawing on the paper before you put it down,

and as for now i just did a digital painting of an eye, still need more practice

    Name: 14 eyes realistic.jpg
Views: 188
Size: 282.5 KB

    i also recorded the process

this took me 30 min. to do

i'd love to here some feedback and advice on how I could improve on this

and also, i have a problem with brushes in photoshop, im still unsure which brushes to use and stuff like that, especially when i get those brushes packs and get all though textures etc, i just get confused and wouldnt know what to use where etc, so should i stick to round brush for now or do somthing else. i'd appreciate any input

    thx

As for the brushes: I hardly ever use special brushes. A round one works just fine. But your painting is very nice, good job!

Hello everyone, I wont upload art in this reply, but i want you guys to come up with something for me to paint or/and draw which would completely challenge my skills and would absolutely test my current boundaries, as i seem to just be doing practice drawings gesture etc, i know i should be doing those, but i just want to test my current skills and see what i can come up with, so i thought if i'd ask you maybe you can be more harsh and realistic, rather than me choosing what to draw

thx in advance for any input

Well I see that you have absolutely no landscapes so my challenge to you is to draw at least one landscape painting that involves at least one bush!

If you fail at something, you suck at it, so trying is therefore the first step towards being sorta good at something!

I have a sketchbook and a deviantArt! FurAffinity and pixiv too if you can find 'em.
