Thank you for the critique I do agree now that I look at it the eyes appear a little off and I will probably fix them up. But as for the ash and dust ect. The reason for it's placement is I am telling the story of bonnot's death here is a little snibit from wikipedia
"On April 28, police tracked Bonnot (now France's "most wanted" criminal) to a house in the Paris suburb of Choisy-le-Roi. They besieged the residence with 500 armed police officers, soldiers, firemen, military engineers and a lynch mob of local citizens. Armed with three Brownings and a Bayard pistol, Bonnot succeeded in wounding three police officers.
"By noon, after sporadic firing failed to extract Bonnot from the house, Paris Police Chief Louis Lépine ordered the building bombed, using a dynamite charge. The explosion demolished the front of the building. Barely conscious, lying underneath a mattress, Bonnot was shot ten times in the upper-body before Lépine shot him non-fatally in the head. Afterwards police had to prevent the spectators from lynching Bonnot. They simply told the crowd that Bonnot was already dead."
I am trying to depict a romanticized version of bonnot's fall. Thank you again for the critique I am always appreciative of critique
First time Teen Challenger here, going to try my best! Here's my first work in progress, a quick sketch. I was wondering, however, everyone else seems to be doing a full body portrait. The challenge was just to design him, would a head-shoulders portrait not qualify?
I'm pretty happy with what I have so far and I can't wait to get to work on it more, but I don't want to do too much before I know if it'll work! I made him a older-man, as the leader of a gang I imagine him to be experienced and a bit grizzled, but behind a desk making the plans for his gang. However, to keep a slightly refined-buisness image I decided against a scar and settled on a cigar. :3 Any critique is welcome and appreciated!
(The image is the same, my mouse is double-clicking and I can't figure out how to edit to delete a extra attachment, sorry!)

Reason: Double image attached accidentally.
honestly not sure how much further I can finish this one due to school ...all my photos somehow turned sideways -_-
I have Jules Bonnot a young dapper fellow who is quite confident in his abilities. In the bottom right hand corner he is shaking hands with two business men, holding a pistol behind his back (just in case).
Hey, I am sorry, I suddenly got incredibly busy again so I am going to push the deadline a few days but I guess since a lot of people are more in a sketch state right now that isn't to bad. So you have untill this sunday (April the 27th) to work a little more on your beautifull drawings. Will make the finals thread later today!
Scutterback, nice work! Very good that you investigated the subject on wikipedia. Research is the way to go.
Clockwork, I like the moodboard very much! Wanted to make one myself for everybody but didn't had the time...
Ictis, Madnine and HaoningW, very nice drawings. Not really much to add but keep going. You're doing the right things.
Ink-apotheosis, nice start! When shading try to pick a light source before you start. What I usually do is decide for example that all my right planes are in the shadow and stick to that.
Marine dragon, I like your portrait but I am going to require more than just a face!
