Really love this sketchbook! Gives me tons of inspiration to do something similar . Also, really impressive how you change styles each time to learn more, and also to not remain in your comfort zone.

You should do some more stylised ones, like maybe manga or DC comics style.

    Will be watching!

    Congratulations on the 100th portrait!
    You show some admirable endurance.
I have a question: do you only draw these portraits or are there some other subjects you are learning?

Anything unrelated to elephants is irrelephant.

Thank you tiggeraz, actually there's tons of figure drawings, sketching from memory and still life studies going on behind these portraits, and I might as well open up a new sketchbook or maybe put some here.

    102. I was thinking of iRobot, and i was like, let's upgrade it a bit. I love redesigning stuff, but i need more skills to really get them to work!

I think it would be a good idea to put these in a separate sketchbook, to keep the integrity of this one.
I am eager to see the drawings you kept back.

Wow, this is really an inspiring sketchbook. You dedication to this shines through, and I hope is inspiring many young artists on here. The last guy I knew to do this was Andrew Jones, and he is one of the best in the industry. The improvement he made was unreal. I'm really excited about seeing your progress, if you make it to 1000 they should put you in the CA hall of fame. Keep going!

Also I recommend a book for you, Drawing the head by William Maughan. It's not expensive, and you'll learn a ton from it.

Yep, thanks for the suggestion, I'm going to do that, but it's not that great so lower your expectations

Thanks man. Andrew has been my main source of inspiration, but I feel like I'm moving towards a different direction and I'm happy about it!
Does CA hall of fame even exist? lol
there are tons of other awesome artists who should be there n my works are just way below their stuff. and thanks for the book, I'll make sure to check it out.
also thanks for the positive words and checking my stuff out!

    103. colors. today something really weird and sad happened, and I had to stop what I was doing, and paint this one, I hope it can suggest the feeling.

Gotta love these portraits and your dedication to this project. At first I would think watching hundreds of self portraits would get a bit dull after some time, but you keep adding new elements as you go, and paint in different styles etc. You're keeping things interesting, good job! I especially like the traditional one you're having as your thumbnail.

But first, let me paint 1001 selfies. *drops*

Amazing stuff you've got here. It's always exciting to see what you're going to do with the next portrait. Also, I want to point out--and I may be wrong--that you skipped a number. You didn't count the portrait in post #225. But there's nothing wrong with 1002 self-portraits I guess.

    Looking forward to more.

    Hey buddy!

Glad to see your still going strong with these, they are so entertaining.

This project is not only interesting because of the huge target number and possibilities it throws up, but also because it will eventually show your progress as an artist and become a kind of diary of how you were feeling and how those feelings led you to express yourself at that moment in time, very cool.

Keep going, it's always great to see which direction you take next
