Row, Row, fight the Power!
My old Sketchbook was no longer serving its purpose, and had to be put down. But from its ashes bursts forth this sketchbook, to take down the oppressive overlords and kick reason to the curb!
I've worked as a 3D artist for 4 years now doing concept work and modeling for a number of company's. I've worked on advertisements, games and TV shows but I've never been completely happy with it.
I always wanted to draw and when I got into 3D that dream fell of the edge of a cliff. But its climbed back out! I've decided to get back to what I loved doing, even if I have to start from the ground up again.
You've got to have goals and so I'll list mine here. Nothing wrong with aiming for the skies!
- Do a piece of art for a Magic the Gathering card
- Put out a book of illustrations (With a theme, not just to show off)
- create my own IP
This sketch book will be my daily studies and exercises.

Drawing from today. Gesture drawing, Octo-sketch, surfaces, A random face and vehicles. I have a huge problem drawing vehicles, so hard to fight perspective and proportion. its why I did 3D in the first place.

Your older work is impressive, I especially enjoyed the Spirited Away redesigns.
Even though 3D wasnt your first choice, having a background in 3D modelling should help you progress with your 2D work greatly.
The amount of studies on show are great to see, you obviously understand how important those fundamentals are.
Keep it up!

Mothman: Thanks man! yea I plan to focus strongly on the fundamentals for the foreseeable future, gotta get those down before I can do anything!
Attended a workshop today hosted by Maciej Kuciara. Amazing, the guy is insanely talented.
Out all day so I dindt get much time to practice. Instead I spent an hour tonight testing out Keyshot, with scratches added in Photoshop.

So the point of this sketchbook is for me to upload everything, no matter how unhappy I am with it. Well I'm pretty unhappy with today's offering, but that's how it goes!

I had such plans for today... and then I had to go and get sick. I've felt terrible all day, not even well enough to draw as I have a constant headache.
Here's some of the stuff I got done before that. There's more but don't feel up to scanning anything
