I fell in love with details in this sketchbook , the effort you put in every sketch is great .. keep up .
Great sketchbook, the aliens are really good and yoour painting is perfect. I think that you could work a little more in the color of the aliens, to make them more vibrant

Mukkled: Thank you so much for the kind comments, im glad you enjoy the details as I have a lot of fun working on them
acu: Thank you, thats high praise but I still have a long journey ahead . Im trying to improve my colour work as I agree some of the colour aliens look muddy and a bit drab. Do you think they look too dark, is it the colour choices, not enough highlights?
Here is a simple step by step character tutorial of an alien head sketch that I fleshed out to a full character piece.
Not sure how useful it is but I hope someone finds it useful
Thank you for your time.
lovely stuff!!! do you have a design in mind when you do these faces or do you design them as you draw?
Hello good people of ca.org!
BenReichert: Thank you Ben! I have a pretty good idea of what i'm goin for with most of them. Although some are just random shapes thrown together until I see something I like and think can be taken further. I appreciate your interest
Oatestwder: Thank you, that means a lot!
This update includes value and colour alienheads, a couple of full body character designs and a few pages of pencils...
Here is another alien head I chose to take further...
And here's the result...
These were done for a Japanese stall I designed as a personal project, the end result can be see on my website www.othmanizagaren.com
Thank you for taking a look!
Keep the good work, it's really inspiring.

Wowww. Amazing sketchies and drawings. You produce a lot of high quality stufferoos. I bow before ye as master of creatures, and am humbled by your visit to my Sketchies.
Hi bro, is pretty amazing see your progress, and your aliens designs are really crazy, is hard to make them work with all thouse forms and your making them look good, just crazy, keep them come
Thanks for the comments in my sketchbook. I think your work is very impressive, you have great observational skills and the still life vase with your reflection is really clever and successfully executed. I think more dragons would be nice, lol. Great work, all the best.
The life drawings on the first page have such a sense of form and solidity, like something I could reach out and touch! As for your alien heads, they are awesome! Have you considered doing some human ones? Nonetheless, your stuff is amazing!
Beautiful work! I love all the detail and personality that you put into your designs. Looking forward to seeing more!
acu: I do need to improve my understanding and use of colour, so i'm currently giving it more focus. Thank you for the kind words and yeah maybe I shouldn't constantly use a neutral grey background, haha
Misty Feather: Thank you for your very kind words Visiting your sketchbook was my pleasure, I'll pop over again soon.
Chris Flores: Hi Chris, I do love detailing my images. I soemtimes think I over do it, but its nice to hear that you think its working. Thank you for the kind words, I appreciate it.
Dayle: My pleasure Dayle. Those still lifes and studies have been massively helpful to my progress. I'll try my best to fit a dragon or two into future posts I appreciate the kind comments, take care.
dragning: I've been working on my anatomy, so I'll post some more human faces and figures in the near future Thank you, I appreciate your kind words.
imdrunkontea: I really enjoyed sketching those. I took one of the carts all the way to a fully finished image. The creation process from thumbnail to final image can be seen on my website if your interested http://www.othmanizagaren.com/#!design-process/c1q3v Thank you
Olooriel: Thank you Olooriel, I appreciate your kind comments

More aliens/creatures! This post includes some value alien heads and a colour one, using muted colours. There are also some colour studies and a few pages of pencils.
Thanks for your time
Thanks! And I just love your SB. Your sketches and paintings are so clean and well-rendered. I'm jealous. Your creatures are very unique and have their own personality. Keep it up!
Freaky-cool Aliens, Awesome Sketches, Great Drawings! Love the woman and the expression on her face. You really know how to bring your art to life, man. Keep going.
Are those digital or traditional sketches? Whichever they are, they look awesome. You have a great balance between hard and soft lines, which makes the sketches really interesting. Oh and great design as well.
I really like that you make like alien-like portraits, and none of them look the same! Some of them looks as if they're right out from an early Star Wars movie. keep it up Mothie!
Your passion for alien portraits is unmatched!
Nice stuff man. I really enjoyed the looser doodles in your sketchpad. Your values are quite good too.
If I had to give one critique it would be to pay attention to your larger base shapes when forming your creatures or scenes. Try to keep in mind pleasing overall larger shapes that form a good relationship with each other for maximum appeal, even if your just sketching. Also these base shapes will help you give more sense of form to some of your creatures heads so they don't risk feeling like a mask on top of a head.
Those little shack or house things in one of your recent posts are very cool too.
your killing it man.
Those pencil sketches really interest me, they have a freedom and sense of movement you haven't managed to capture in your digital works yet.
Nice works, I especially like your linework drawings, your use of lineweight and simple shading is very effective.
Aya-kun: Thank you, I appreciate your kind words. Im currently freelancing but looking to work in-house in the near future
cgaddict: Thank you. Im glad you enjoy the designs as it helps to show me im on the right track, still a long journey ahead though Its great to have this kind of support as we all progress together.
Misty Feather: Thanks Misty Your comments mean a lot as I have been trying to loosen up and add more life to my work recently.
Uiriamu: The sketchbook pages are all scanned HB and B pencils on A4 size paper. Thank you for the high praise (including the comparison to the early star wars alien designs!) I really appreciate it. It's so much fun thinking up the alien head designs and im happy you like them.
Stoneseeker: Haha! My aim was to create 100 of these and then present them together, i'll post the end result soon Im glad you enjoy the sketches, I agree that the looser sketches can be more appealing.
Thank you for the crit, some of my images do suffer from looking flat. Concentrating on the larger shapes used and their relationships gives me a new perspective on how to tackle the problem, I appreciate it
Oatestwder: Thanks Oatestwder! I used traditional mediums way before touching a digital tablet and I agree that I do need take certain steps to make my digital work feel more natural and dynamic. I think its something I need to be mindful of prior to and in the early stages of creating my digital pieces. Thanks again for the helpful crit
nouge: Thank you, im glad you like the sketches, I do enjoy working with pencils There are plenty more to come when I find the time to scan them all in. I really appriciate your comments
This post includes more alien head designs both in value and colour, a colour study and some older pencil sketches.
It's not the strongest collection of images ive posted but I still want to post as much as I can as doing so will probably highlight certain criticisms that I need to hear. I'll make sure the next post is more impressive
Thank you for taking the time to look
Very neat aliens! I like the birdy best, but I think you could've pushed it further! Looking great, man.
