Your renderings are fantastic, the only critique I would maybe have is that in your character designs the poses seem a bit stiff to me, and as if there isn't a very determined line of action. I might just be nit-picking, but I am super jealous of your renderings keep up the good work =]

Dude, really nice last update. Really like the designs, more importantly I like your style.
Two small things could really help you:

    1. be careful with those specular highlights on the bottom portion of your character... putting them everywhere flattens them out. If you do include them on the legs make sure they are much more subtle.
    2. Pay more attention to your feet. The body design is solid, but because your feet never feel like they are in true contact with the ground your character feels floaty and ungrounded.

    Good work.

Impressive sketchbook! I really admire your skill on those clean lines & details. How much time do you usually spent for a colored full body character illustration? Like for the high priest character.

    Hello good people!

Bri in the sky: Thank you Bri, I appreciate your kind words

Agerkvist: Haha, thanks Ager. I do tend to create a lot of production style art, maybe I should have a go at more full illustrations combining character and environment, good point. At the moment I do small freelance jobs while building up my portfolio and applying for in-house jobs

noosence: Thank you. Yeah I definitely need to inject some dynamism into my character poses to help sell their personalities I appreciate your critique and kind words.

Chris Flores: Haha! Thank you so much Chris

pindurski: Thank you, im glad you like the designs You're right I do tend to overdo it with highlights and details too, I guess I have to learn to ration those things so my designs dont look too busy and distracting for the viewer. On the feet, do mean some of the characters lack a shadow to ground them or their feet aren't aligned with the floor plane? I appreciate you taking the time to critique, thanks

unique_litani: Thank you! Im not too sure about the time spent on the "high priest" image. It was completed over the course of a week (amongst other things), all the way from initial design sketches to final character and orthos.

I decided to set myself another challenge in order to create a portfolio piece. I've chosen three of my previous character designs and reimagined them in a sort of mini/chibi style and there are some scanned papers too

fun sketchbook, wild imagination for sure. work on your gestures and poses more, some of the characters are very imaginative but look stiff and have an awkward pose.
    cheers!

So good rendering, I'm loving it. I'm way out of my league giving you feedback, I know, but I'm thinking that you'd benefit from attacking the poses. Have your characters weighed down by their own weight.

Great characters! Your linework is fantastic. You're moving towards your own style, which is envious.

    Hi all!

Danny_K: Thank you, I try my best to be original I've been told to loosen up my poses a few times now so I will definitely work on it. I appreciate your comments.

pindurski: Thank you, your work is looking sharp too

Sushy: Thank you so much! Im glad you like the little critters I appreciate your kind words.

zou: Thanks zou it's great to hear that and i'm really glad you like them.

    Bri in the sky:
Thank you Bri, you’re too kind I appreciate the very kind words buddy.

nouge: Im glad you like them. I appreciate feedback from anyone that has taken the time to look at my work and you're spot on with the crit about the poses needing work. I remember getting some similar advice about characters (or any subject/object) only looking convincing when they look like they have real weight to them, I will keep this in mind. Thank you for the crits and advice

Misty Feather: Thank you Misty i'm glad you like them! It's great to hear that you see a style emerging. I'll pop by your sketchbook soon

    Aya-kun:
Thanks for the positive comments and i'm happy that you see improvements

    Uiriamu:
Haha thanks! You’re too kind, I appreciate it. I’ll them keep them coming as often as I can

Cool sketchbook. I agree on practicing gestures more. I can see you are doing it but maybe you could try doing some quick gestures too.

I am now a fan. You have a unique design sense which for a concept artist is a very good thing.

Istmin52: Thank you. You're spot on with me needing to improve the gestures of my characters. I've been doing extra anatomy studies recently including quick gestures. I appreciate the feedback it keeps me on track

hurman: Thank you so much. Hearing that I have a "unique design sense" is awesome I appreciate your kind words.

NickyBeats: Thanks buddy I appreciate your positive comments

    Hello good people!

I have a character concept of an insectoid ninja, I imagined a human sized insect and the immense strength and speed that the character would have. I decided to present the character using a simplified background in a comic book cover style. I've also included some scans of my pencil/pen doodles.

Thank you for taking a look
